why do some people sneeze so loud?
IF I can hear your sneeze so loud from all the way across the office, is that too loud? I am wondering if this is something that can be controlled - and if not, why do some people have loud sneezes and others do not?

umm, I don't think they can help it
I don't think that's always the case.
For the people I have met with loud sneezes - the sneeze itself is quiet, but they put the big "ACHOO" at the end of it.
A sneeze doesn't require any words.

While I do think some people are naturally "loud" sneezers.. I also think other people VASTLY exxagerate the pitch/sound level of their sneezes as well..
I'm the oppoiste.. I stifle my sneezes to try and make them unnoticeable - to the point that I hurt my nose sometimes

My grandmother...YES, my GRANDMOTHER sneezes so loud that she startled my baby cousin so badly he burst into tears. Lol. I guess everyone is different...I myself am a pretty quiet sneezer..

If I don't have a cleanex handy, I will make the sneeze come out of my mouth instead of my nose making it much louder. It drives my mother crazy.

Yes I find it very irritating also... Love it when they are loud and like four in a row... the other day I was on the phone with my mother and from across the office our very loud and multiple sneezer starts.. my mother could hear it and said "well that is annoying" I KNOW

I totally agree!!! There's a woman at work who sneezes so loud!!!! It's really unnecessary, but how do you approach someone and tell them they sneeze too loudly??

well I'm no sneezing expert, but I say that people can't help it. my Dad sneezes VERY loud and he's definitely not the type of person who would do something on purpose to get attention.

FOr me, its mostly the people in an office setting, I wouldnt care if it was my dad at all. In an office, its ANNOYING!!!!!

As a loud sneezer, I don't add 'achoo' or any words to my sneeze. It's embarrassing as it is. If someone asked me to not sneeze so loudly, I really wouldn't know how to respond to that. Trust me, I'd like it to be quiet but I can't help it.

I understand that some people can't help it, I'm just saying there are some people who add a little something extra to the sneeze that could be culled back.
Not everyone, but some of the ones I've met.
