Why do people RSVP so late?!?! WWYD?
I'm hosting an end of school year party this Saturday. As of yesterday, half the class was coming with 2 teachers. 2 people RSVP'd 2 days prior to the party adding 3 extra kids so I am once again short favors.
I ended up preparing favors for all the kids including siblings. I now have enough for all of DS's classmates but not their siblings. I am 3 favors short.
WWYD?
A. Don't give out favors at all
B. Don't give siblings a favor
C. Scrounge and put together favors for siblings that are not the same age as the classmates

You spent time putting the favors together it would be ashame for them to go to waste. I think all of the kids attending should get a favor.

C. I'd also start moving up your RSVP dates and bothering people for responses a few days before it. Most people know what they intend to do long before the RSVP date and just don't tell the host....so I have no problem bugging them.

and I agree with the op that suggested moving up your RSVP date.
Also from now on I would just buy a bunch of extra favors and return what you don't need/use.
I find that to be easier on me then running around last minute to find more.

Lesson learned!
I had a similar problem at the boys' birthday party. I actually did have a few extra but got a bunch of super late RSVPs...like the day before! We did end up with one family who could not come last minute so it all worked out.

yeah, i use the extra favors for my kids or, if they are little things in a goodie bag, I put them in our "reward" treasure box in my house. sometimes they are just good for my kids to pass the time on a rainy day.
