wwyd - regarding being around people you don't like
I have a situation where I don't like being around person "A", b/c of a situation involving my DH.
What do you do if you show up at an event and that person was there? No one really knows the reason behind my avoidance of her, and its difficult b/c she has a kind of family tie to me now. It's just so awkward.....

Just avoid her and be pleasant. Unless it was something truly awful I would try to get over what ever issue I have with the person since she is now family. It is not worth my stress to have issues with someone. Does she even know why you don't like her? Is it something that she can fix? if it happened in the past before you were involved with DH - i.e. they dated then you need to get over that.

it was something bad and involved DH while we were married. I don't want to get into that whole story but let's just say she is not ever welcomed in my home or near my children...it was that bad.

My SIL isn't Allowed in my house or anywhere near me or my children. I am done being the bigger person. So she doesn't get a hello nor a goodbye from me at their family events. I'm not putting myself or my boys in a tense environment where their mom is miserable. Thankfully, Dh agrees 100%..
