Why do people ask
if were ttc just to turn around and say wait and theres no rush for kids. I dont understand it

i hate it, i hate people asking me such a personal question. why do i have to get pregnant right now? i feel so much pressure from people!!! and then when i tell them we are waiting a year or two, they say....good idea, kids change everything.

Seriously,
We just got married in the beginning of the month and if I had a dollar for how many people asked... I would be a millionaire...
I was like... Geese... Can I get back back from my honeymoon first.
I mean, we are TTC but I would never ask anyone...
I mean... my close friends I don't mind, but like co-workers and people I hardly talk to... like... Why would I tell you something so personal?

I have told a few people that DH and I are TTC and I kind of wish I hadn't because pg is not coming as quickly as I would have liked. Now I am getting questions from people about how it's going. If I could turn back time, I wouldn't have told anyone!

We told a few relatives we are currently TTC. One of my relatives feels the need to constantly ask me whenever I speak or see them "So, are you pregnant yet"?? If I call this person, they will answer the phone, thinking I am calling them to share some news...They will answer with, "Let me guess, your pregnant!"
I mean, how rude can you be? I told this person, don't worry when it happens you will be one of the first to know you don't have to keep asking!  
People can be so annoying!!

I mentioned to one of our friends that we were thinking about TTC soon. She said "just let it happen, if it is meant to be, it will be". I wanted to smack her so bad.

I wish I had an answer for this idiocy.
It AMAZES me how many people ask us when we plan on having children. IT IS SUCH A RUDE AND INNAPPROPRIATE question!
Nobody should ever ask that....its none of their business!
And, if they are saying "oh there is no rush...." its just to take the pressure off of you and to make up for the stupid question they asked in the first place.
People really are just SO DUMB.
We have only been married for 6 months.....and people asked us this from day 1. In the beginning, I didn't know how to answer, so DH and I would just say "when we're ready." I am sure they are suspicious since we are in our mid 30s. Well, now when they ask, I kindly tell them: "Its none of your business."

I'm pretty lucky. I've been married 5 years and everyone in my family and circle of friends has respected my privacy in this area. I told my mom I'm ttc, but I'm super close with her and can't hold anything back.

We recently went to a family reunion and there were the standard when are you going to have kids questions...I just said we weren't in a rush and I wanted to finish my masters first. I don't mind when people close to me ask--but after I let you know let it go! my mother in law takes note if I have a glass of wine whenever we see her! ugh! and then she says, well I guess there are no grandkids yet. SO ANNOYING! I respond with, I'll keep you posted.

ITA. People just want to make conversation and if you're married it's the next "logical" step. I don't really get annoyed because I know they mean no harm, it just gets to me after awhile because if they knew what I was going through they would never ask.
