Why do I feel so guilty about stayin home

I worked a 16 hour day yesterday from 8am to 12am...then got NO sleep after. I just emailed my boss and said I was working from home bc i really do not feel well now... I am dizzy and nauseas and have the worst headache...yet I feel guilty.

Does anyone else feel this way when they work from home or call in sick?

I'm such a baby

NO need for guilt! I used to feel guilty but not so much anymore. I try to remember that I work really hard at my job and if I need them to give a little too, it should be an expectation, not a sacrifice on their part. . trust me they don't sit up late at night worrying about keeping you there for 16 hours!

Take care of yourself! you deserve it!!!!

YES, I always feel guilty when I call out/work from home! Working a 16 hour day absolutely gives you the right to work from home so DO NOT feel guilty!!! Today is probably the best day to be cuddled up at home.. enjoy it!

While I understand the guilt, put you and the baby first. You are tired and legitimately do not feel well. Take the day to relax and veg. You deserve it!!! Chat Icon

I understand how you feel...but seriously you should enjoy your day. You worked a really long day yesterday and probably overdid it a bit. Now take this day and don't look back! Chat Icon

Do not feel guilty! You need to listen to your body. That was a crazy long day--and your body is telling you that it was too much.
Heck, if i didn't have to meet a big deadline today I would've called out on just the account of the weather.

Re: Why do I feel so guilty about stayin home

i feel the same way if i call out sick or take a personal day. i'm an executive assistant and there's many things that only i can do. you know what though? life will go on....and being preggers i just have to realize that somethings are more important....like resting and relaxing (and watching a movie with ice-cream at 2pm on a random tuesday).

enjoy and don't stress about it!

I definitely do. I work lots of 12-16 hours days (no overtime) and I still feel guilty but honestly, I shouldn't and neither should you! I have worked the last 12 days straight and I was so tired today and still came in. I am the idiot. But -- if they ask me to come to the office tomorrow - I am seriously saying "NO".

Re: Why do I feel so guilty about stayin home

Thanks Chat Icon you made me feel better.

I don't feel guilty anymore. I have been so busy all morning so it's not like I have just been sitting home doing nothing. I need to take a bath & relax/ unwind during my "lunch break"

I definitely feel guilty about calling out. Since I got my BFP I called out 2 times and this coming up Monday I have to leave 2 hours early to get to the airport and fly to FL. I have had such anxiety about it but oh well I work hard when I'm there.

Please don't feel bad what you do for them is more then enough
