Why am I temping?
Honestly I have no clue what this does or supposed to mean.....I've been reading like crazy but it just doesn't make sense to me.
Can someone please explain in human terms!!!??

Are you using a chart to keep track. Fertility Friend is highly recommended. Like PP said, temping is to see when you ovulate. After a few cycles you'll be better able to see a pattern of when you normally ovulate during your cycle and this will help you time intercourse better.

Temping is more to help in the future than it is to help you right now. Once you have a couple of months completed you can start to see patterns of low and high temps and you can use that to better predict ovulation in the future.

temping is the only way other than bloodwork to confirm ovulation

Thanks, I started charting on fertility friend, its only been a few days. However looking at other peoples charts I just don't understand them

Give it time, it will make sense. Once you see a clear shift on your chart and FF confirms this you'll understand. Do you have any specific questions? Maybe we can help you understand it better.

Temping confirms that 1) you're ovulating regularly 2) that your LP is a normal length 3) teaches you to ID the "symptoms" around O and 4) helps you figure out if you're timing BD correctly.

If I remember correctly, FF would email me a "lesson" on temping when I signed up. HUGE help. "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is a really informative, well-written book.
