Wholefoods coming to suffolk county?
I was told today while shopping at Best Buy that Wholefoods is going in by the Smith Haven Mall next to LA Fitness... Anyone else hear about this?

Re: Wholefoods coming to suffolk county?
My mom told me that like 2 years ago - it's still not there?
I currently live walking distance from a Whole Foods... I'm going to miss it when I move!

Where SportsPlus used to be. They are actually building there now, so it might be sometime this year!

They have made a LOT of progress working on it in the past month! The entire brick outside is now finished! Hopefully it'll be done soon!

I was just wondering the other day what was going to be there. Is Whole Foods less expensive than Wild By Nature?

Re: Wholefoods coming to suffolk county?
I can't wait either, when I had to go to Nassau County (rarely) I went to the one in Jericho...although I like Trader Joe's, Fairway and Uncle Giuseppe's more.
As for other proposed/upcoming supermarkets in the Town of Brookhaven:
- Uncle Giuseppe's will likely put a location in Port Jeff Station on 112 where Stop and Shop was (yessss)
- Shoprite may or may not put a location on the site of the old Waldbaum's on Montauk Highway in East Patchogue; this is highly dependent on whether the Walmart project on Hospital Road goes through

I can't wait for that. I thought that they changed their mind on that because it's been so long. I'm glad to hear that it is still in the works!!!

Oh, yes... I know where it is supposed to be -- I was actually asking an impatient "where is it already?!" lol not specifically "WHERE is it?" -- I should have made that clear! LOL!

I heard that a long time ago, maybe even 2 years ago. I figured that it was not happening. I would be happy if it did, though!!!!

I rented a condo in CA for a week while I was away on business... I went to a san diego whole foods for groceries for the week.... all I can say is
nope, it's definitely on par with wild by nature (aka healthy for the wealthy )
I'll stick with fairway.... organic and gourmet, yet reasonably priced

Re: Wholefoods coming to suffolk county?
My sister got called in for an interview almost a year ago.. maybe more? I can't believe they are still not open! They did say they had to train any new managers in different stores first.. but for that long?
I actually CAN wait for it to open.. I spend way too much money there.

Re: Wholefoods coming to suffolk county?
Yep- they finally started construction - the building is about halfway done?
It is expensive, but Ive been to Whole Foods in VA and I found it less expensive than Wild by Nature, and they have a much much larger selection.

Yes it is coming! They are putting it next to LA Fitness where Sports Plus used to be. They finally started work on the building and now the structure looks almost complete. Hopefully it will be done in a few months.

The building actually looks like it is almost complete. I looked on their website last week and there was no date for opening.

Or at least put one on the South Shore in the Sayville/Bayport/Patchogue area.
Of course, if Trader Joes probably opened a new location, they'd probably skip the greater Patchogue area and just put one in the Hamptons or Riverhead
