Whole Foods/Organic moms...check your lables!!!
I am not a fan of whole foods and only shop there when I must (it's just so dang close to my office in a pinch) but this I find disheartening

Truthfully, I am not surprised, which is why I check the country of origin on EVERYTHING I buy. Its why I do not buy those baby MumMums (or whatever they are called) because I saw they were made in China.
Its so important to check everything.

Oh not cool. I shop at whole foods all the time. I usually only buy the fresh local produce, not frozen, but this makes me not want to shop there at all.

it is basically saying that whole foods imports a lot of the 365 frozen veg from china. and since there are different "rules" (I use that term looser than a porn stars hooo haaa) governing farming standards and such there, it is hard to know if it even meets the USDA standard (which I don't wholly trust either   )
they apparently use a private certification company who supposely has someone monitoring the farms in China...(but I don't have too much faith in that either.)
sorry for my interjected opinions. it just pizzes me off!!!
and I am usually such a label checker...but it didn't even occur to me to look. I never used to buy frozen stuff until I started getting it for Luce (to ensure max vitamin retention).
I use another brand more often though, from a different store so I am going to check that. my survey of what I have from whole foods tells me only the spinach I bought if from china.

I just checked -
The peas and green beans are USA and the broccoli and mixed are China.
Next time I go to Trader Joe's I'll check their stuff out.
But to play Devil's advocate:
What is worse, organic veggies from China or non-organic?
Not everyone has access to fresh, local veggies year round. (actually most people don't)So what is the other option?

What is worse, organic veggies from China or non-organic?

honestly I shudder to even think what China is doing to their "organic" produce..I don't trust them at all..so honestly at that point I would go for non organic, that's how strongly I feel that stuff is going to come out about what they were doing or not doing to their foods sooner or later...that is exactly why I don't give DD mum mums...I don't trust their methods and practices...I do find a lot of Trader Joe's frozen brand is not from china!

see but that is the crux of the issue. are we getting a not so bad truly organic item from China or a hells to the NO conventional item from china.
someone entity is certifiying they are organic, but it's private. who knows if it's really trustworthy.
so you could in fact be getting a conventional item from a place that has been having all sorts of problems with its food manufacturing lately.
