Who knows UPDATE
So after going back and forth about taking the kids on a cruise, DH decided he wasn't very comfortable with it. My sister and I are renting a house at Sylvan Lake for 3 nights 4 days with the kids. It's not nearly as luxurious, but at least I'm getting out of here for a few days!
UPDATE- ok, now I have no clue where and if I'm going anywhere. it turns out that Sylvan Lake and Sylvan Beach are two different places. Who knew?! The one we thought we were booking is only an hour fom our house. The one I was about to book is almost 5 hours from here. now we're looking into coastal houses around Mystic and Rhode Island. Wish me luck, apparently I need all the luck I can get right about now. I have never had such issues planning a trip!

Ok, I think I got it figured out now... We're going to rent a house in Niantic, CT for a week. My parents are going to come the first 3 nights, then it will be me, my sister and the kids for 2 nights, then my sister is going to go home and my DH is going to come for the last 3 days, 2 nights. Niantic is about 20 minutes from the casinos (for my parents), 20 minutes from Mystic and outlets, and 30 minutes from Rhode Island. Theres a childrens museum right n the town and theres an amusement park an hour away. So it shoud be a good home base for us, plus the house is only two blocks from the beach.
Keep your fingers crossed for me! I'm waiting to hear back about how to pay her.
