Anyone rent a beach house/lake house for a week with toddlers?
Please don't move: this is parenting related!!
I've never done it before but I thought it might be nice to rent a beach house for a week this year. We'll have an almost 3 year old and an almost 1 year old.
We were thinking:
LBI or Jersey shore somewhere
NC
Montauk
Lake George
Any suggestions/advice or recommendations would be most appreciated. I have no idea where to start!

we just rented one in Duck, North Carolina, Outer Banks.
We are going with friends who organized it, they used VRBO.com to find the house.

We don't have a toddler yet, but rented a beach house in Montauk this past summer with friends who have a 3 year old and a 1 1/2 year old. It was great and so much easier than a hotel for the little ones. Do it!

We rented a big house in MOntauk last year with my ILs. It was a little too far from the beach so I won't recommend the house but we found it on craigslist. Its great to have a house with the kids for cooking, naps, laundry, etc. We brought a blow-up kiddie pool for the backyard and that was great to have.

Not directly on the beach but we rented a little cottage in the Hamptons when DS was 14 months. It was really nice!

We did Montauk last summer. We didn't rent a house but rented a one bedroom efficiency on the ocean. Breakfast was included which was great and we had a kitchen for the other meals.
My dc were 1 and just 3. They had so much fun but I was definitely glad to have the pool to have them play in.
We stayed at Royal Atlantic. They have prices listed on their website.

We are renting a house in Corolla, NC (Outer Banks) wth 2 other families. Children range in age from 6 to 11 months. We also rented a house in
Hilton Head when DD was 15 months and a house in Carolina Beach when she was 2 months. IMO, a beach house is the way to vacation when you have little children. FM me if you want any info.

Like $250/night. We went at the end of August a couple of years ago. We only stay for 3 days. We were not tied to a full week rental. It was a 1 bedroom cottage.
We stayed at the Hamptons on the Bay. It was nice and clean. They have a "motel" side and a few cottages. It was convenient to everything.

my sister in law & brother did this last year for a month. they did it in lake hopatcong, new jersey. the house was lovely, it was MUCH cheaper than anywhere else they looked & we had a ball when we went with Emma. Their daughter who is 6 months older than Em had a blast as well!

For the southern outer banks (which is where Topsail Island is), go to RentABeach.com North Carolina beach vacation rentals and try the "baby friendly" option. You can compare properties from different rental agencies.

Every summer we rent a house in the Outerbanks... we have total of 18 of us including my 2 toddlers ages 3 and 2
