Who ISN'T planning on a family?

I knew I would be a minority here, but someone else here said that they weren't planning on kids.

Who isn't planning on having children? We aren't, and get unjustly criticized for it when we tell anyone. So we try to keep it to ourselves unless we're asked.

We love children, we adore our nieces and nephews, we're not evil people who are going straight to hell. We just don't want to be parents.

I am planning on a family but I would NEVER judge someone who doesn't.

It's not for everyone and honestly that's none of my business.

We aren't planning it yet and have no interest right now. I've said it here before, but we are mature enough to know we're too immature right now; we didn't live together beforehand and right now, we're just doing the "us" thing!


Edit: And one more thing: Don't let anyone make you feel like marriage isn't enough; it's that and more. If you don't want children, that's your business and marriage can be just as fulfilling

DH and I aren't 100% sure yet... I think we will end up having at least one child down the line. Just not ready yet.

I know how you feel about this... we've stopped telling ppl we aren't sure for the same reason. I have a lot of respect for ppl who make a consciuos decision not to have kids bc they don't want to. Too many people just think it's the next step in ilfe and don't really think through the responsibility it involves beforehand!

We have decided definitely not now, possibly not ever.

As of right now, we are not planning to have children. We may revisit the issue one day and realize that we could change our minds, but as of right now, neither one of us wants to have children.

No desire at the present time for either of us. I have too many things I would like to accomplish.

Someday, yes I would. But not right now, or any time soon.

Like I said on Saturday....and I will repeat over and over.....It took me 10 yrs to be a size 0/2 and I am not giving it up for anyone or anything.

I personally am planning on a family but I wanted to say I am sorry people are giving you a hard time about making a decision that is best for you.

We're both 35 and keep thinking that "someday" we will. But we don't have a lot of time left, so who knows if it will happen. I hope it does, but I won't be devastated if it doesn't.

There is NOTHING wrong with that. We just met a couple on our cruise who said they chose not to have children as they enjoy traveling.
As much as I love my kids and would do it over again, it was nice having the time alone with my dh and just getting up and going. When people asked if I missed the kids I said of course but I did not miss the chaos of home. I enjoyed eating my dinner and sleeping in.
Don't let anyone persuade you to have kids if you don't want them. THEY are not going to have to raise them, you are!!

DH & I do not plan to have any children together. I already have a 24 year old daughter from a previous relationship so I am done. I had my tubes tied a year before my wedding.

We aren't having kids. That was a decision we made early on in our relationship, and our minds have never wavered.

We are TTC right now, but your decision on this subject and ANY subject for that matter should never be questioned or ridiculed!!!!

Try to keep your head up, listen to those who criticize, and MOVE ON! It's really not worth your energy getting upset.

I myself, think I could have a happy life never having kids, but I know I would have always wondered......

We are not having children. We are lucky that we haven't really been challenged by our decision.

I don't understand why people think it's ok to question a decision someone else makes. I would never go up to someone and demand they explain to me their choice to have children. It's no one's business to know the reasons why.

We are not planning on having children either. Although we got a lot of slack first, most people eventually lay off. Others that are not familiar with us, we just play it off.

no family for us... and yes we get criticized for it all the time. not everyone is meant to have kids.

"Oh but there's still time, you're young! You could change your mind. My aunt/sister/roomate/friend/co-worker said the same thing and now she loves being a mom!"
