Who is your OB? Or who will they be?

Right now I'm considering 3...
Dr. Berman in Patchogue
Dr. Porte in Rocky Point (among other places)
And Three Village Women's health, though not sure which dr. yet.. I forget who I was thinking there.
I made an appt with the first 2, but am thinking of postponing them since I'm so early and anything could happen...
I just want to find an OB that I'm sure will work with Dr. Kofinas, and that he will work with well also.
The one place I called told me to come in for a consult after hearing my history and that I should talk to the dr to "see if he even wants to take you on as a patient". Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I guess they figure I'm going to be a trouble patient... lol. Oh well... Chat Icon

I have always gone to Suffolk OBGYN so I continued with them. I am not crazy about the fact that you dont know who is going to deliver the baby and you have to see all of the OB's in the office (i have only seen 2 though) but I am just comfortable there.

I go to Dr. Kasten in Oakdale. I've been going to him for about 5 years and really like him. It is a small practice just him one other doctor and a NP. He is very understanding of my neurotic mind and my history.
He delivers at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore.
I know he works closely with Madonna Perinatal, I don't see why he wouldn't work with Dr. Kofinas.
Good luck!

Re: Who is your OB? Or who will they be?

This doesn't help you at all, since my Dr. is in Western Nassau, but maybe it will help someone else who is looking.

I see Dr. Melissa Glasser-Caine in RVC. She used to be part of Long Island Woman's Health Care in Bellmore, but left to start her own practice, and is now renting space at the Horizion ob-gyn office in RVC. She delivers at South Nassau. She knows Dr. Braverman pretty well, as she was a resident under him at Winthrop. I am not seeing a perinatologist/high risk doctor, so I didn't have to worry about coordinating with anyone. I have seen her as a gyno for a few years, and really like her personality. She is young, friendly, and direct. She did my D&C in May, and as much as the situation sucked, I was pleased with her and the team at South Nassau.

Dr.Braverman recommended 3 different doctors for me. Dr.Plitteri, Dr.Mesbah and Dr.Goldstein. I started with Dr.Mesbah because I heard iffy things about Plitteri but wasn't happy with my initial experience at Mesbah's office. I ended up sticking with Dr.Goldstein. He seemed the best fit for me, and I am happy with him. My only issue is that I hear he rarely delivers his patients, but his overall personality is so nice, it made it worth it.

Thanks. Chat Icon He only mentioned one other dr. to me but they work with their own perinatologist, which means I couldn't use Dr. Kofinas as well... guessing because of where I live. Chat Icon I don't think he knows many drs this far East. I won't even play w/ the drs out here... I'm probably going to be travelling 45 mins or more each time I go to the OB and and hour and a half without traffic to see Dr. Kofinas.

i saw goldstein too. he didnt deliver me. i will switch if i have another baby. i liked him and his office was fabulous but my delivery situation soured me a bit..also hes very laid back which is good sometimes but not sure how that would mesh with Kofinas.

Re: Who is your OB? Or who will they be?

Love, love Dr. Matthew Traugott. I had to switch midway since I couldn't deliver at South Nassau. He delivers at LIJ and is amazing! My husband calls him Magic Matt and is kind, gentle, and has great hours that accommodated my DH work schedule. I had my c-section 2 weeks ago and he sees me every week still to keep an eye on this blood clot I have.
He is in Garden City.

I agree. Dr.Goldstein is really nice and he is always smiling and nice to be around, but he is SO LAID BACK! He makes me feel crazy when I ask any questions. I am due in 2 weeks and he hasn't spoken to me about a birth plan or anything. Anytime I have ever called his emergency line, some Dr.Cohen calls me and I have no idea who he is. I am always super hard on Doctor's so I thought it was just me. I am planning on finding a new Doctor after this baby is born.

I am going to see Dr. Nadel in Mineola, which is close to where I work. I had another OB GYN closer to where I live but I wasn't happy with him once I started TTC. Both my sister and my co-worker used Nadel and recommended him. It's good because my co-worker used to go to appts on her lunch breaks when she was pg, which is convenient, especially once you have to start going every week!

Dr. Gus San roman in port Jeff station. I love the pratice. They are on top of everything. I'm not a fan of 3 village. It's very big and little personal attention. I used them in the beginning of my pg with dd and I saw a different dr each time. They have old sono machines too.

dr. Cohen assisted during my csection!! hes great and not hard on the eyes either!!! Dr Scarantino did my csection and i think that he might be who i switch to since he seemed to do a decent job with my horrendously complicated csection.

i asked Goldstein to talk birth plan with me at like 28w or so and he said not yet. well the next time i saw him he pretty much sent me to the hospital and i delivered shortly after so even though my birth plan would've been out the window it would've been nice if he could've at least humored me.
