Who is not finding out the sex?
I don't want to find out the sex of the baby. Dh totally wants to know. His family thinks we should find out too. Why does it annoy people when you want to be surprised?

Re: Who is not finding out the sex?
Do whatever you are comfortable with. I didn't find out the sex either time, even though DH really wanted to know both times. Then, when he went out to the room where the family was waiting, and HE got to be the one to announce..It's a boy/girl (We have one of each), he said that he finally felt like he had his special "pregnancy moment." It did make it a little harder to plan/decorate, but everything got done, and it was completely worth the wonderful surprise for me.

We're not going to find out!
I say this is one of life's true surprises! For all those who give us a hard time about it.... tough!!!
I like to tell them that they can guess, and have a 50/50 chance of getting it right! It's not like they have to wait years to find out... it's only 9 months and probably less when they know about it!!!!

Its my friggin PG & if I want to be surprised then that is it...no negotiating

Re: Who is not finding out the sex?
My SIL did not want to know for all 4 of their kids but my brother did. So to respect both of their wishes, my brother found out and my SIL was surprised at the births. My brother never told anyone but he did admit after their second daughter was born that he was told it was going to be a boy and they were wrong. DH and I both have always wanted to be surprised at the birth but we do get many family members telling us that they need to buy us gender appropriate gifts ahead of time. Still won't make me go against what we want. DH and I did decide however that at any point if one of us feels like they cannot wait and has to know, we just won't spoil the surprise for the other one

Like I am going to "change" the biggest decision of my life b/c you want to buy a dress for my kid or maybe a suit? Please

I totally agree with you! My one Aunt just would not stop harping on this point so I turned to her (politely though rude) and said "Well, they couldn't tell the sex back when you were pregnant so why don't we just pretend we live in those times and I can be surprised just like you were able to be" - I admit a little rude but it shut her up

It also annoys some people when you DO find out ... people need to learn just to keep their opinions to themselves (and also get that everyone is entitled to do what they want and neither is "wrong"!).

So true -- my baby does not CARE if the clothes are green instead of pink or blue! I may even keep baby in green and yellow FOREVER. They just want the clothes to be 100% cotton, and comfy! I want them to be easy to get on and off, and easy to wash.
We don't want to know the sex, and we are so looking forward to finding out after the baby is born!

That's because some of us want to go out and buy yarn to knit baby booties but we don't know what color!

Re: Who is not finding out the sex?
We aren't finding out - my family is fine with it, but we also arent telling anyone the names we have chosen, and my stepmother and stepsister seem annoyed about that. BUT - my stepsister called me 2 times my entire pregnancy, and my stepmom hasnt really been around for my entire pregnancy either, so they have little to really complain about....

Re: Who is not finding out the sex?
We found out, only because DH made a big fuss about it. I wanted to be surprised. I think it would be so cool for the doctor to say, "It's a ......" and for us to be surprised.

Re: Who is not finding out the sex?
We aren't finding out either. I'm realizing now how difficult it will be to register for clothes, but I happen to like the neutral beiges and so on.
I agree that this is one of lifes few big surprises.
Besides, all the major stuff like nursery, high chair, stroller.....will all be gender neutral anyway.

We're not finding out! Tom wanted to (still does) and I was against it. I think in this circumstance - I get to make the final decision.
If I get to deal with the marshmallow-looking ankles, heartburn for no reason, back pain, nighttime leg cramps, and all of the other fun stuff - I get the final say!
Stay strong!

Re: Who is not finding out the sex?
We did find out, but I think people always have something to say. When people ask if we know and we say yes we get a lot of "Oh, you KNOW already? Don't you want to be surprised?" and "I can't believe you didn't want to be surprised!"
