Who here lives in Forest Hills?
DH and I put a deposit on a pre-war apartment in Forest Hills and sign the lease on Monday!  We'll be moved in by Aug 30th

Congrats! I don't now but I use to before I got married. My DH called it "Little Manhattan" bc he was from the burbs  It was a great stepping stone for me from living in the city to eventually moving to LI. I loved it there. I didn't live in a prewar but I had lots of friends who did so I am sure the high ceilings and all those details your new place will be amazing.

I used to live in Queens and FH is such a great area---so accessible to everything.
Also lots of great restaurants, bars and shopping right there.
My ILs lived there until they bought their house in Seaford after they got married and loved it too. They used to use a delivery service that let you choose from all the best local restaurants as well. Yum!
FH is also great because it's easily accessible to Manhattan, or the Woodside/Sunnyside/LIC area which also is fun for eating and bar-hoping.
(Can you tell I miss my "younger" days ).

My brother lives there. It is a great neighborhood. Lots of shopping, restuarants, bars etc. He loves it there!
