Which would you rather have? Registering & small apartment

What's more useful - a bouncer or a swing?

Re: Which would you rather have? Registering & small apartment

we registered for both. we had a small apartment too. the swing we registered for folds up so we could put it away.

in the beginning, we got more use out of the bouncer though. swing is more for when we are trying to get DD to sleep.

Re: Which would you rather have? Registering & small apartment

I registered for both.

BUT the bouncer I registered for is Fisher-Price Newborn to Toddler Rocker.

So it is a bouncer that converts to a Rocking chair for Toddler. Seems to be dual purpose which is something I would suggest for you if you limited on space.

honestly, my DD hated her swing - it was such a waste for us! However, she spent hours and hours in her bouncer. If you would really like both, why not a travel swing (they fold up small, you can store it in a closet or under your bed)

My DD wasn't fond of her swing either...the bouncer was great though

I had both and I may be a bit biased since neither DD really "took" to the swing, but I say DEFINITELY get the bouncer. It's portable, moves easily from one room to the next, etc. Where else is the baby going to sit? Love the bouncer!

Re: Which would you rather have? Registering & small apartment

My DS is 3.5 months. We have used the bouncer almost since he came home from the hospital and I don't think I could live without it. Now that he is bigger, he loves to bounce himself and I found the vibrator to help with his gassiness on occasion too.

He is only now using the swing. I kept trying to put him in it and it is only this week that he has been enjoying it (he's actually napping in it right now). He used to cry the second I sat him in it.

ETA: The bouncer is also the thing we bring most to other people's houses with us.

Tough call. I got more use out of the bouncer, but the swing helped put DS to sleep and the bouncer didn't. We had a travel swing that folded up really small. It basically folds flat so you could slide it under a bed or behind a chair

Re: Which would you rather have? Registering & small apartment

we're actually going to register for a bouncer and borrow the swing from a friend.
I hear that most babies like the bouncer better.

We have both but we went for the "travel" versions so they're smaller.

Our swing is one which uses the Graco Snugrider infant seat...

another small apartment mom here....

we're registering for the bjorn bouncer. I've read that bouncers are the saving grace for many new moms, and help with baby reflux by propping them somewhat upright...

I'm also hoping it will help encourage physical activity with the bouncing motion....

I have a small house- limited storage. I got the fold up graco swing - the one that you rest the car seat in.

Exactly what i was just going to suggest!Chat Icon

Both my DD's were not a fan of the swing, a total waste, but LOVED their bouncy seats.

The bouncer is more useful, you can move it from room to room. (I even bring it into the bathroom with me so I can see the baby while I shower).

Re: Which would you rather have? Registering & small apartment

I had a small apt too and registered for both. I know everyone loves the bouncer but if I had a choice it would have been swing for me. DS LOVED the swing. He was in it until he was 2 years oldChat Icon !!!!!! It honestly was the only thing that calmed him down sometimes and it was a lifesaver for us.
