Which OPKs?

I remember reading oh so long ago when I was on here about which OPKs were the best to buy (best bang for the buck, so to speak) if you're using a lot of them cause you have very unpredictable/long cycles. I don't remember if it was a certain brand that could only be bought online or if there was just a website with a really good deal on buying in bulk or something. Any idea if I know what the heck I'm talking about? TIA!

Re: Which OPKs?

i have been using target brand and dollar tree brand and both work well for me and seem to pick up the surge. I love that i get almost double to triple the amount of tests with the dollar tree brand versus buying a name brand for the same price as you only get 7 in name brand ones (i have long and inconsistent cycles too so that way would cost me so much)

Re: Which OPKs?

There is a brand that sells multiple ones (20) in one box...the box is pink & in CVS...I think it was "first Response" they do not come individually wrapped so...you have to keep them in a dry place when you first open the box (inside the box is a zip-sealed bag for all). Mine would last for a FEW months especially when I ovulated earlier. This beat a price of almost $30 for 7. $1 each at the dollar tree is a real bargain though... I've never tried those.

I find these particularly easy to read & I can start them earlier...so as not to miss my cycle. I tried one month with the smiley ones...and though the smiley ones are obvious...smile vs no smile: they work on the same principle...and I missed my o-date that month...which ticked me off.

You have to do one month of OPT to figure it out...first you see 2 lines (though the test line fainter)...this will drive you crazy...you hold up to light, re-read the instructions. Then one day your hormones surge and...it becomes VERY clear. The test line becomes MUCH darker and that's that. No blinking...no smiley face...no $$$ thrown out. I prefer to see the pee being dragged up so I know I wet it enough.
