Which do you use?
I'm sure there has been a poll like this before, but I'm kind of new to this. I think I'm going to be more aggressive with ttc now. AF is due on sun and I've been getting BFNs all week. Obviously, I'm not doing this right. I was going to just temp, but now I'm thinking it may be easier and more efficient to use OPKs. I found a basal thermometer at the pharmacy, thats what I'm supposed to get right? And as far as OPKs, should I get the First Response Ovulation Kit with 20 sticks? What is the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor for?
I thought this process would be easy for me since my cycles are so regular, but its just confusing and frustrating

Re: Which do you use?
Both, but I trust the temping more. I also think I have "human error" issues with the OPKs because I either don't wait long enough between bathroom trips or the digital one gives me error messages and I can't wait, etc. If you only test once a day with an OPK it is also possible to miss the surge.
They serve different purposes though - the OPKs predict when you will ovulate soon, and the temping confirms ovulation after the fact. The more months you temp the better you can see how regular (or not) your ovulation day is and then you don't necessarily "need" the OPKs if you are very regular and have the time to BD a few days around then.
Edited to say that I use the CBE OPKs and the "one month" supply I use for two months since I have a sense for when I will ovulate so I don't start testing before day 14 and can stop by day 21 usually. That is the right temperature as well.
But from my experience, you can do everything "right" and some months it still doesn't work. These things are tools that can help boost your chances, but nothing is a guarantee unfortunately. You're not out until AF shows though!

Re: Which do you use?
I use temping, preseed, and the CBEFM. The last time I got a BFP I used all of the above and mucinex so I think I'll try that this cycle too

Re: Which do you use?
I used first response OPK's and got negatives every single day... even when bloodwork confirmed i ovulated. I switched to CBE opk and got my smiley / BFP. Sooo i will be using them again. I also got the CBE fertility monitor and am using it for the first time this month. I set up the monitor where i test with FMU which generally is 4-430am for me, and i will test with the OPK later in the morning, since thats when i got my smiley last time. Im hoping between the two, i will increase the chance of accuracy.
