Where's your family fall getaway???
Every year DH and I go to upstate...last year we went to Hunter Mtn, when they have the ski lift open, and spend a day or wekeend away just enjoying the fall leaves, weather, and apple cider
Looking for a new place this year?
Where do you all go for fall foliage???

We went to Mohonk Mountain House in June, and we're thinking about going back in Oct/early Nov for fall foliage. It's not too far, and includes all food (delicious!). They were very accomodating w/ DS (11 months when we went in June).
ETA: It's in New Paltz.

My sister and nephew just moved up to Cape Cod! I miss her like CRAZY, but, now, we have an excuse to go away!
We will be heading up to Cape Cod at the end of October! Can't Wait!

camelback  in PA, DH's family has a skiside condo (though there is no snow yet)
possibly Salem
im sure there will be a few weekend trips to my sister in CT
we always head out to Greenport for day trips

Growing up, we went every year to Kent Falls in Kent, CT. Cute tiny park with a covered bridge and small water fall with a walking (climbing) path to go up, grassy hill for playing, picnicing. Nearby cute little town with shops. Other covered bridges and falls near by. Not far, about 2 hours. Great day trip.

We usually go upstate this weekend for a cheese tour of farms and apple picking in saratoga.. We just had to cancel and I am SOOOO sad

I went to high school in Kent!!!! It is such a beautiful little town. I think it was actually just voted best location in the country for fall foliage!
it has the cutest little bakery in town, along with an old time toy shop.

Beth, you're from the area...the leaves will be gone then, right? Peak is usually Columbus Day weekend & when I lived there they were booked a good year in advance that week/weekend.
We just head to my house upstate during the fall time. This year we'll miss peak, but hope to head up the end of this month & again in Nov.

We are Upstate in Saratoga Co., we usually do a bunch of day trips in the fall up north to Lake George, North Creek or Blue Mountain. There is the Essex Steam train in CT that is a lot of fun this time of year, there is also a Maple Farm in Western Mass we like to go to.
We are going to do some apple picking locally next weekend.

Yes! How funny you remembered! Where is your house upstate? Peak is usually mid-Oct I think in the New Paltz area? I can check online. We were thinking of going for our anniversary Nov. 4, but I think that may be past peak, which is fine too...

I was born & raised in Columbia County. Just north of Dutchess. Now we keep the house so we can get away & have DS know where his Mama came from.
I think it's Columbus Day weekend. When I lived up there I always wanted to be married that weekend... Then I move down here & it threw everything off

We'll take at least one trip to Amherst, MA to visit my sister at college. Side trip to Salem. This is her last year up there, so we want to bring DD and enjoy the country.

We have a house in Copake! We try to go up at least 1 weekend a month, but we're so busy lately it's hard. We LOVEEEEEEEEE to go apple and pumpkin picking up there every year
oh and our getaway this fall is Cali!!! SO excited

We have a house in Cairo (near the Catskills) we usually go ....but not this year I will be way tooooo pregnant so maybe we will go for Thanksgiving.
