I am 30 weeks tomorrow and I keep hearing this. I am not going to lie, I'm a bit scared. I feel like I should be bigger than I am have a bump but I feel like everyone I know had a MUCH bigger bump already. Anyone else not too big yet?? OB said at 28 weeks I was measuring perfect but Im still concerned. I dont want to have a low birth weight baby. What would you do or how would you feel?

Everyone carries differently. I swear I am carrying this baby in my arse not my belly! If your doc isnt worried, I wouldnt be either =)

most clothes I wore until 30-31 weeks still didn't show my belly. at 32 weeks its actually looking like a pregnant belly
I'm also thin so people expected me to be much bigger so much sooner and I don't know why
I don't let it bother me. its the comments like gessh your not feeding your kid enough that get me mad. I've gained 23lbs already!
ETA- at 28 weeks i was a little worried the baby wasn't growing with all the comments so I asked the ob and he used a tape measure and measured me and showed me, I was measuring exactly 28 weeks. he told me to tell people to shove it

everyone is different. I popped very early and people where like OMG twins.
and even my own sister said maybe you need to exercise.
My Dr says I am jsut fine and that is the only person I am going to listen to.

As long as your dr. has never voiced any concern then dont be worried at all. There seems to be no perfect size for everyone's eyes. Your either too small or too big. Dont listen to people.

I am 36w5d and I have heard this my whole pregnancy. Most people think I am due in Dec. or Jan. My little girl is estimated to be 7 1/2 pounds, so def. not a low birth weight. I wouldn't be too concerned unless your dr. says otherwise.

I am carrying the same this time as I did last-- and I honestly never really looked that pregnant. I was at a wedding this past weekend (eta: at 25 weeks), wearing a tight dress and people came up to me AFTER they had seen me and said they didn't realzie I was pregnant. I have belly pics in my album from last pregnancy. Doc always says I am measuring fine, and last time, DD was born at 6lbs 15oz. I am not worried this time-- it's just kinda annoying sometimes!

people have been telling me my entire pregnancy that i look "too small"... but all my measurements have been perfect (i asked my dr a million times if my bump was too small and she said no!). then today, someone asked if i was having twins! size is so subjective and people love to make dumb comments. try not to let it bother you, everyone carries differently if the baby isn't on track for growth your doctor would have told you.
i've also heard that if the baby is laying transverse you look like you don't have a bump at all - do you know what position LO is in?
eta - if you have a flexible tape measure you can measure your bump from the bottom to the top of your uterus - the number of cms of your bump should be roughly equal to the number of weeks along you are (i.e. at 30 weeks your bump should measure around 30 cms) - this trick made me feel a lot better every time someone made a comment!

I have done this. My OB showed me how and I measure EXACTLY where I should be. I guess I just feel like I should be bigger. Fast forward a few weeks and I am sure I will be complaing that I am as big as a house!

How big you get isn't really a good indicator of how big your baby will be! I was HUGE with my DS, HUGE. I delivered at 31w6d and he was 3lbs 6oz! TINY! (obviously because he was so early).
I've seen super cute, tiny little belly mamas have normal 7 and 8 lb babies!
So long as your OB doesn't mention any issues, I'm sure you're fine!

ugh tell me about it..except for one dumb comment, everyone has been telling me i'm too small.. to the point where I have been reduced to tears later.. people carry differently and i was very careful with eating and excercsing but anyway, it has been sickening.. i'm 39 weeks tomorrow.. and its really getting old.. i've been measuring great and weight has been coming up at a steady pace so I wasn't concerned but the comments always got to me..at my last sono baby was measuring over 7 lbs and believe you me.. my MIL's jaw hit the floor when I said that.. even though she has curbed her small belly comments to me, she figured at max baby would just hit 6 lbs..

Just crashing but figured I could tell you my story.
I was tiny the whole pregnancy. I hid it from work until after 6 months.
I measured "small" at every appt- when they did the tape measure. Then the baby was measuring small on sonos. She was in the 22nd percentile or thereabouts for every sono we did.
Towards the end, because I also had high blood pressure since my second tri, this caused them to monitor me every week with non stress tests , growth sonos, dopplers etc.
All throughout this the baby did great on the tests- but measured small
My belly was TINY. The day I gave birth I looked about 6 months preggo.
FM if you want to see a picture of me 3 days before giving birth to compare bellys!
Guess what- I had her 1 day before my due date and she was 7 pounds! Quite avearge for a baby that measured "small" the whole time.
Try not to worry- your dr's are on top of it. You may just carry small naturally.
I did.
And the upside- for me at least- was that the day after I gave birth the nurse came in to see me and said- you don't even look like a patient here. My belly went down so fast. I was in a bikini 2 weeks later.
Try not to worry. I know how scary it is. But I bet you are just a small carrier - like me!

My best friend never wore maternity clothes, just a belly band. At 40 weeks she looked like she was only 5 months pg. Crazy thing is she didn't have a small baby, her dd.was over 8 lbs. Everyone carries different, I wouldn't worry.

Same with me and its my second pregnancy. With DD #1, I was small up until the very end. My daughter was born perfectly healthy at 6 pounds, 6 ounces.
This time, with DD #2, I am small again. People tell me all the time how small I am and how they cant believe I am due in 7 weeks.
My doctor has never been concerned so I havent been either. I look at it as a positive thing. With DD #1, my delivery was fast and easy AND I was back in my pre-pregnancy clothes within 2 weeks.
