Where to send your 2 1/2 yr old...nursery school?

I'm soooo confused about this. I would like to get my DD into a program that would be 2 days a week for 1/2 days or one 1/2 day and 1 full. At this age is it daycare still?? Or is it nursery school or something else? I spoke to 1 place so far and they seem to be more like a daycare (they do offer some structure and some learning opportunities though). But they only offer full days and it would be $100/wk for 2 days. (is that a fair price?)

What are my choices here??? Any help would be much appreciated Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

The nursery school my son goes too starts at age 2. It is not a day care, it is only a school program. I am thinking of enrolling my DD for next September (she'll be 2 in May) and she'd go 2x a week for 3 hours a day.

My dd goes to nursery school. they have a program that starts at age 2. We can do 2.5 hours 2, 3, or 5 days a week. There is also a 10am-2pm 5 day a week program but I think that starts at 3 years old.

Ours works out to around $100 a week, it's 9 months long and we pay about $3500 for 3 days, 2.5 hours.

I loooooooooooove the montessori program. IMO for 2 year olds it's wonderful. I will be sending her there until kindergarten and then I will switch to public school (I am not sure I agree with the montessori plan for older kids).

Since starting school I can't tell you all the things that Talia has learned to do on her own, and how much she has changed.

She had a hard time with the adjustment - but the teachers were just wonderful and convinced me to stick it out and she has really blossomed there.

My particular school is wonderfully hands on with the students. It's a very special place, but they are all not the same so look into it as much as you can before you decide (this goes for any school).
