Do peope use China closets anymore? We just moved into our house a few months ago and not sure where to put all of our china. Is it old school to use a china cabinet? lol I have no idea

Re: Where to put my china?
my china is in my kitchen cabinets....i *might* look into making those cabinets glass so it can be more on display...
i dont have room in my dining room for a piece of furniture to display mine...
they have really nice cabinets that don't look old school - that is what i ideally would have liked...

Re: Where to put my china?
I was going back and forth between getting a sideboard/buffet or a finna china cabinet.
I ended up choosing the china cabinet and I am so happy I did-I set it all up last weekend and it looks fantastic-not dated at all.
I'll post a picture soon.

Re: Where to put my china?
I was thinking about purchasing a side board but, I really dont have the room.
Currently I'm storing them in an armoire that used to hold a TV in a spare bedroom. We mounted a flat screen on the wall so I can now store them in there.

I was unsure of this as well and ended up having built-ins made for the dining room when we renovated our kitchen, they are kind of like china cabinets, but not.
If we didn't do this, I was going to get a china cabinet that was french glass from top to bottom and not the traditional looking cabinet.

Re: Where to put my china?
I have a beautiful china cabinet - and I love it - but if I could do it again, I wouldn't have gotten one. I would have waited until we redid the kitchen and just built cabinets to hold it, rather than displaying it so formally.

Re: Where to put my china?
Our China is in protective coverings in a sideboard. When we move, it will go in a basement. We are married 4 years and havent used it yet. I honestly never saw a need for a china cabinet. I can think of a number of ways to make better use of space (assuming you have storage space elsewhere).

I have a china cabinet and I LOVE it. At first I did not want it but my MIL and FIL talked me into it and I am so glad they did. I don't think it looks dated at all!

Re: Where to put my china?
I have mine in a china cabinet purchased a few years ago. I LOVE it and don't feel it looks dated at all. It's a mahogany finsih and we are actually purchasing a new dining room set and I'm so happy that it is really easy to match.....I don't think china cabinets are dated but you have to like the look and for some people it doesn't make sense if you don't have the space...as for our china, we use it a lot, dinner parties, holidays and honestly, if DH and I cook a nice dinner, we break it out....I have it so why not use it!! I use my nice glasses on random nights during the week for a glass of wine! LOL!
