Where to go?

Hi everyone. I have never posted on here, so I am new to this. I was over on the TTC board for a bit, but someone gave me the advise to come over here and ask you...

DH and I have been trying for over a yr now to conceive. Unfortunaly after OV testing for the last 4 months, we still have nothing to show for it. I was wondering if I should go right to my OBGYN or perhaps a specialist. No one knows we are going through this, so I dont even know who to ask, or who to ask recommendations for. Please help

I really appreciate it
thanks

Re: Where to go?

i would see an RE if its been over a year. you'll need to have testing done and ob/gyns dont really know all the ins and outs for the most part. an REs JOB is to get you pregnant, and most of that is figuring out why you AREN'T getting pregnant.
i (along with like half of this board) see and LOVE dr. braverman in woodbury!! he is absolutely amazing.

Re: Where to go?

You are the second person to recommend him. Do you have his number? Is this stuff covered under insurance. I have no clue how this works....help!
Thanks

Re: Where to go?

U should start by calling your insurance company to see what things are covered. Then definitely make an appt with an RE. An obgyn will do some of the testing, but I think it's better to just go right to an RE-----they're the experts. I know that everyone on here luvs Dr. Braverman but I went to LI-IVF. Their hours were much better with my work schedule.

It can be an overwhelming process, but just take it 1 step at a time.

ITA!! call ur insurance company and see whats covered whats not. I know alot of people go to dr braverman and really like him - i know he runs alot of tests - alot of which arent covered by insurance. My friend went to LI IVF and after a few tests and some medication she has a 1 yr old dd.
I went to RSofNY and have gotten pregnant 3 times by them.I also had alot of testing done bc i had 2 mc and they figured out the problem. DS will be almost a yr old and i am almost 14 weeks along wiht my second one

Good Luck!!! Chat Icon

Since its been over a year I think you should get a consult from an RE. They will run all the tests needed for both you and DH and they know best how to get you pregnant. I used rsofny and now I have a 5 week old dd. They were wonderful, had very flexible hrs and locations.

Re: Where to go?

First, contact your insurance company, and see what kind of infertility benefits you have. Then find out what REs are in your plan.
I used RSofNY and have 1.5yr old twins, and am 16.5 weeks pregnant with my third.
