Where is your "sick room"

So, since December I feel like the boys are taking turn getting sick. They both had the flu bad in December then stomach bug, virus and so on. Ugh! I have bought stock in Lysol, cleaning products and Elderberry syrup. LOL! Does seem to work even though they get sick.

Anyway, my 5 year old was throwing up last night so I kept him in our room with the garbage by him and towels. THis morning I put towels and a sheet on the couch in the den with his pillow, one of his many charetor blankets he's gotten from bdays or as favors and more towels. I have water and Pedialyte in a cup too by him with the TV remote and he's watching Disney.

DS was watching me put towels around and asking why I do that. I told him in case he gets sick it can go on the towel. Am I the only nut that has towels are my sick LO when sick? My 5 year old does make it in the garbage or toilet when awake, but can't guarantee when he's sleeping. My 3 year old hates a garbage in front of him and would rather get sick on my floor. Ugh! That's why I like extra towels around for him.

When My DD was sick she slept on the couch chaise. I set it up with towels and put down sheets. Then i had towels surrounding her on the floor. I had to be prepared.

I've gone as far as a plastic tarp thing, with towels over it.

My room. I don't want them in common areas where they spread their germs. They stay in my room. I bring in books, movies, color if they are up to it. I have a mattress I set up with towels around and a basket. They use one bathroom only.

I don't do towels per se, but I have a bunch of reusable chucks from the hospital that have a waterproof backing. I lay them everywhere when one of the kids is sick (and normally keep chucks between bed sheets and the mattress as well). So far the furniture is intact!

I always pad up the bed with towels. I usually stick the sick kid in my room on my bed, well padded with towels.

If AJ is sick she is in her own room and we go in and out and care for her while controlling the things touched since her bathroom is directly next to her room I literally cut her off at that point. She has everything she needs in her room and that area. We don't do towels. She has a garage bag/can. Its actually an old (NOT USED) Halloween bowl. Wide, and shallow but big enough. She also has one of those Mcdonald buckets from a happy meal? She asks for that in her bed with her.

If she *THINKS* she maybe sick (even if its just a belly ache) she'll ask to keep that in her bed with her or she won't sleep.

Honestly she's only thrown up in her bed like twice? I stripped it and rebidded it while he cleaned her up and got her water. haha I remember I even laid in her bed a bit to make it warm up for her once (She wasn't running a fever).

Where is your

Towels galore. Dd had 5 strsight days of throwing up and I went through my whole linen closet. Kept doing loads of wash but she got to cuddle in bed so I didn't care. Our sick room is our bedroom and the den.

I have covered the couch, floor and path to the bathroom with wipeable table clothes, So no I dont think you're crazy.

I thought towels covering the couch were the norm in this situation, my mom always did that for me. Once in a blue if I am really really sick I will do that set up for myself

I use a lot of the waterproof pads from when they were babies and towels and set them up wherever they are most comfortable.

My 4yo is pretty good about using the "sick bowl" (just a large silver mixing bowl) but my 20mo just pukes anywhere so there's lot of laundry and showers when he's sick.

we have a den we use... the sick person sleeps in there for the night too... we get plastic buckets from the dollar store and just use a new one each time someone is sick...
