Where does your 8 month old (or older) nap when you are out?

DS is 8 months old but wears 12 month clothing. It finally has dawned on me that he's really too big now to be napping in his infant carrier when we are out at someone's house. He'll nap in it if we're out shopping, but if he's not moving while in it he really wants no part of it. When we're home, he naps in his crib but we can't tote that everywhere! (wish we could ) What do you do?

DD has been out of her infant carrier since 3 -3 1/2 months old (she wanted no part of it)

she usually napped in the stroller if we are out or she wont nap at all.

she was never much of a napper to begin with so to me her not napping doesnt make her any happier or crankier.

she is 7 months 10 days & wears 12 months & 18 month clothing already.

I have a 2 month old but unless he is moving he never wants to nap in his carrier. We dont go many places yet so if he falls asleep he has been able to go in a PnP or his carriage.

When DD was that age she napped in her stroller... even at home! She needed to be rocked a bit...but it was always harder to get her down for a nap when we were out.

DS will still only nap in his crib or pack-n-play. He doesn't really nap in his stroller. We go out between naps.

She doesn't. She will only sleep in her crib

Part of Julie's nap routine is that she falls asleep in the seat while bringing DD to preschool every day. She stays asleep in there for about 2 hours... that's her nap for the day. Probably not the best habit, but I take what I can get. She's sort of too big for the carrier too, but I don't want to mess up the nap by taking her out of it

If we are at someone's house, I am bad and ask for pillows to surround baby/blanket and have them lay it on the floor in another room.

Many times my friends have a pack and play, so I use that.

ds naps everywhere, will nap in the stroller.......

i recommend the fisherprice newborn or infant to toddler rocker. Its great for having them close to the ground, slightly angled up.
