Where do you store your bread?
We bought whole wheat bread for sandwiches and out it in the cabinet. Got moldy right b4 the date on it. My mom says to put them in the fridge, but then it looses the freshness

My last two packages of wheat bread and english muffins all got moldy within a week of buying them after I put them in the cabinet.
My mom has alwasy sworn to keeping bread in the fridge...I think I'm going to start listening.

Homemade bread goes bad ridiculously fast! We try to freeze 1/2 and then only use the frozen half for toasting.
We had a bread box... we joked that it was the best place to NOT watch your bread get moldy (meaning, it still got moldy just as quickly, we just couldn't see it!)

the key to keeping it in the fridge is making sure you get the air out of the bag. I have never had a problem with it losing its freshness in the fridge.

We keep ours in the microwave, mostly for a lack of storage space issue in the kitchen. We used to keep it in the fridge, but I am not sure why we stopped.

We keep it in the fridge. It would get moldy if we didn't.

I take it out as needed and toast/defrost in the toaster oven.
I don't keep bread out for more than 2 days. after that it goes in the freezer.

b/c of this issue, we rarely buy bread. and when we do, we have plans to use it. we keep it on the counter for a few days, then pop it in the fridge
an alternative that we use is tortilla wraps. they are sold in a ziploc-type of bag, we keep them in the fridge, they last a LONG time, and we never had issues with mold on them. the shelf life is longer anyway.
if you dont need bread-bread, maybe try wraps for a while. it meets our needs and its less $$ going in the trash.
(hubby cant stand the idea of defrosting bread  )

I don't like cold bread so we stopped keeping it in the fridge. its in a basket on top of the fridge... stays good for well over a week.

We have a bread drawer. I believe it's stainless steel or aluminum lined?

on top of the stove. I usually move it when Im cooking otherwise the steam makes moisture inside the bag. the bread stays fresh for well over a week. I think it's best to not leave bread in dark cabinets or areas.

If I don't think I'm going to use it, the freezer. My DH was against it, until I did it ans served it & told him after...he had no idea it was once frozen.
I have a breadbox too (finally found one in home goods)

We also store it in the microwave and it keeps pretty well. I've had English Muffins in there for two weeks and they they were fine.

Growing up we always kept the bread in the fridge. Since being with my DH, he insists on the bread being in the cabinet.
I really don't care.
