Where do you read local news?
We have Verizon FIOS, so dont have access to Newsday.com
News12 site seems to be mostly videos.
Patch is Ok, but not really that up to date.
Are there any other sites where I can read local Long Island news?

Where do you read local news?
Thanks, but looking for a website where I can read news articles. I can only read the first paragraph of Newsday articles since their "content is so premium".

I have this same problem!
I tend to go to 7online but I feel like its not always the most up to date for Long Island news.

I just created an optonline email account through my parents account so im able to read / see newsday and news 12.
is there anyone you can do that with?

Honestly, I think News 12 is the worst joke of a news outlet I've ever come across and I can't stand to watch any News on that channel. The broadcasters always seem smug, even when reporting on tragedies, I've seen them mispronounce names of prominent politicians (like how could you not know how to say his name?) and I feel like they can barely read the Teleprompter. Whoever updates their FB is even worse bc they will post these riveting headlines and then when you click the link, they have NO facts about the story yet.
I think the Patches do a far better job of updating local news then News 12.
I wish we had a better option too.

I pay for Newsday online, but lately I've been questioning my subscription. Their slanted articles have been annoying me lately.

Where do you read local news?
I used to read Newsday but was recently personally involved with something and quickly found out that most of what they post is false or their 'opinion' which they print as "NEWS." I will never buy Newsday again, total pack of liars and desperate for a story that they don't get the facts.
