Why do I read the news???
OK, so as if I wasn't confused enough about whether or not to get the swine flu vaccine I had to read this article...
Swine flu and pregnant women
They (CDC) are saying that in the first 4 months of the outbreak, there were 100 pregnant women who had to be admitted to the ICU for the swine flu and 28 died.
Ugh, to get stuck or not to get stuck... that is the question.

Sad to say, but thousands of people die every year from the common flu. I am sure many of those people are pregnant too.

Re: Why do I read the news???
IMO, I think they're focusing on pregnant women because the medical field KNOWS that women will do anything to protect their unborn children..rightfully so.. and they hope that pregnant women will be the voice for the vaccine since so many people are unsure... However, we have to keep in mind, more pregnant women die every year from the regular flu- but that's just boring.
One of my best friends is an epidemiologist and said not to believe the hype. The common flu is much more deadly
