Where do you hang your Christmas Stockings?
This is our first year in a house and I have no where to hang our stockings! I have a wooden sign that says "and the stockings were hung" and I also have train cars where they could be hung from BUT no where to put them! It wouldn't be a problem if I thought it was ok to put them downstairs in by the family room / play room tree. But I just kinda think they should go with the big tree in the formal living room. What would you do?

We do not have a mantle or anything like that, so we hang our stockings on the railing of our staircase! As kids, my parents did the same thing and it was always fun to come down the stairs Christmas morning and see the stocking full of goodies then see the tree with presents under it!

We never had a fireplace or a stair rail growing up so we hung them on the knobs of the wall unit in the living room.
ETA: Wondering if this is the subconscious reason why I bought a house with a wrap around stair rail and two fireplaces

not weird to me. i hung them on the curtain rods last year.
haha glad to see im not the only one! they actually look pretty cute up there but if anything heavy goes in the stockings, im afraid of the rod crashing to the ground

This year we are hanging them on our railings since we have a sunken living room. In previous years we hung them off of our cd shelf. It was the only surface where we could hang something heavy.

we use the 3M hooks that stick and pull them right off after christmas. we line them up on the edge of our wall.

When I was very young, I lived in a condo without a fireplace. We actually hung our stocking on the towel bar in the bathroom because I was convinced that Santa must come through the ceiling fan vent. That really doesn't help you though...
I have seen some cute stand along racks in catalogs. Almost like a coat-tree but for stockings.
There are some at personal creations...LINK

This is what we did
ETA: we took down a picture that was hanging there and replaced it with the stockings.

in my co-op I used to hang them from my TV stand. Now we have a half wall in our living room, so put cute stocking holders there and hang them.
