Fisher price makes the Rock n play. My girls sleep in it. It's instead of a bassinet. We prefer it because its portable if we go to someone's house. I don't strap them in yet because its deep and they are only 2 mo and not moving. At night they are swaddled in it too so they aren't going anywhere.

where do newborns sleep?

We tried to have DD sleep in a bassinet and she hated it! We bought a rock n play when she was about 5 days old (she's 2 wks now) and its been really great. I'm a bit nervous, so I tend to strap her in at night when we are also sleeping, but she probably doesn't need to be since she's so small and immobile. Sometimes we swaddle her, other times we just let her sleep in pjs, it depends on how she is acting. I hope to transition her to the bassinet in a couple of weeks and then the crib by 8 wks, but for now, the rock n play has been fantastic. We wouldn't be getting any sleep otherwise and DH and I have been averaging 5-8 hrs a night (not continuously, but still!)

They sleep in whatever you want to try. Crib, PnP, RnP, co sleeper, bassinet.

Whatever works for you. Each kid is different and each family is different.

where do newborns sleep?

I had him in his bouncer seat right next to the bed the first few weeks. I didn't need to strap him in b/c he didn't move enough to get out of it and the seat is super deep. After a week and a half we started putting him in the crib and he didn't like it so I actually put the bouncer seat in the crib for a couple nights and then took him out of the seat and into the crib and that's how we transitioned him. He has been in his own room in his crib since about 2 1/2 weeks old

We used the Arms Reach cosleeper bassinet. It straps to the side of your bed so that you can easily get them up and down without getting up. A lifesaver if you plan to BF. DD was in that for the first two months and then moved to the crib. During the day she napped in the RNP, the swing, our arms, or the crib. I do wish we had gotten her used to napping in the pnp since she's not a big fan of it.

Re: where do newborns sleep?

Dd started out sleeping in our room in the bassinet attachment on the pack n play. Then at 4 weeks she would only sleep in the bouncy seat until we moved her to the crib at 10 weeks

DD slept in the rock and play until two nights ago (she is 3 1/2 months) first in our bedroom, then in her own. Now she is swaddled in her crib. U do not snap her in at all, she's not going anywhere.

We had the Arm's Reach Little Palace Co-Sleeper, but you can use it as a bassinet, which is what we did. We didn't have a ton of space in our room, so I liked that it was narrow and fit next to my bed. DD slept well in it for 12 weeks.

This.. its whatever you're comortable with. My girls have been in their crib-in their room since day 1

I dont think there's anything wrong with a RnP or a bassinet.. I actually had the RnP but never used it...I was tempted to many times though b/c one of my girls has reflux/colic... many people love it. I am glad I dont have to deal with transitioning out of anything though.. my girls never knew any different.

Re: where do newborns sleep?

We use a bassinet. We have a rock-n-play too that we used on occasion but my ped really recommended her to be flat because its better for their airways and breathing.

we had a bassinet which DS hated, so then he slept in the RNP in our room for about 2 months, then moved him to his crib.

DD hated the bassinet. She went into the swing then we got the RnP. She is almost 4 months and still in the RnP, but in her own room.
