Where did LO sleep starting from Day 1?
We had our hospital tour last night and of course that made everything very "real" for us. DH and I started talking about the first few days home with our DD and we have no idea where to start her off sleeping at night when we go to bed.
Her crib is all set up and that was our original plan. But we also have a bassinet that we could put in our room and a rock n play. We do not plan to co-sleep and would like to transition her to her crib sooner than later.
I'm just curious where most people start their newborns off sleeping in the first few days and weeks.

Where did LO sleep starting from Day 1?
I wanted to put her in her crib, but I had trouble getting her in and out to nurse because of my episiotomy, so she started in the rock n play. Honestly, she never ended up liking her crib.
I'm hoping for crib from day one with this one, but again, I think it also depends on my own physical abilities

With DS we did RnP and he got so used to it that he stayed in it for 6 months and the transition to his crib was a freaking nightmare.
With DD during the night she's in her crib, has been since day 1. The crib is in our room. I'm SO GLAD we did it this way. During the day if she's asleep I have a bassinet and an RnP downstairs with me and I just put her in whatever is convenient, but from 9 at night until about 8am between feedings she's swaddled and in her crib and it's working very well.

Same for us. She was in the bassinet for 5 weeks and then I put her in the crib and she started sleeping through the night consistently.

Her bouncy seat was tbe only place she'd sleep. We bought a rock n play around 3 months. Sbe slept in that until 6 months when she moved to her crib

Wherever they would sleep!
DS I struggled with - first the bassinet, then the crib, but eventually settled into sleeping in his swing. DD we put right into the RnP from the start and she loved it.

Dd slep in a porta crib next to my bed until she was 8 months old- it made nursing her at night much easier for me.

Same. We transitioned her around 3 months overnight, earlier for naps, with no issues. Especially since I ended up having a C-section, it was great to have her right next to the bed in the bassinet.

DD crib. DS I ended up in a c sections so I couldn't go upstairs so him staying in his crib right away was not an option. I scrambled and got a bassinet so stayed there till about 6-8 weeks then moved into his crib

Where did LO sleep starting from Day 1?
We had planned to have her in the pnp, but she ended up sleeping in the bassinet attachment from our stroller until about 3 months and then slept in a pnp in our room until about 4 months and then we transitioned her to the crib. I think having her always sleep on a flat surface helped with the transition.

Dd was in the rock n play next to our bed for the first 3 months. Then switched her over to her crib with no issues.

Bassinet. For DS1, her was there till he moved to crib at 4 mos. For DS2, he was in the bassinet till he moved to the crib at 2 months.

Nighttime was the crib from day 1 and during the day was a hodge podge of crib, bouncy seat, stroller - whatever worked. I was militant about the crib routine though, but I also think I lucked out with an easy sleeper who didn't care.
