You may want to look into a trundle bed so you only have one bed in the room when they are not with you and you can make it up like a day bed when they are not there.

I would check out Ikea...DH and I got so much there it's not funny- only thing is that you would have to put it together yourself.

Don't bed frames usually come when you purchase the mattress? I'd check that out first before buying a frame you don't need.

Re: where can i get cheap twin size beds?
We have bedrooms at our house for my husband's two boys. We went to Gothic Cabinets/Furniture and bought two captains beds for $115 each. Each bed has three drawers, so it holds pajamas and some clothes which we keep at our house for the weekends. We then went to 1800matress.com and had twin mattresses delivered. (http://www.1800mattress.com/Catalog/Category/2/Twin-Size.aspx) If you buy the captain beds, you don't need to worry about getting the boxspring as they will only need the matress.
I just checked the price of the beds and it seems they are now $159.00 / each. (http://www.gothiccabinetcraft.com/products/Pine-Captains-Bed%2C-Twin.html) We bought ours about 5 years ago, so the price has gone up, but in my opinion its worth it as it comes with the drawers and you don't need a boxspring.
Good Luck!

Yes! We went to the one on Old Country Road in Carle Place but there is also one on 110 in Farmingdale.

I was going to recommend the same thing - and then you only need 2 mattresses - no boxsprings.
DD has a trundle and we got just the mattress from Costco for about $100
