Just curious where everyone is taking a lamaze class (if you are taking one) and how much it is? Also, what other classes are you taking, if any? How many weeks do you usually wait to take it?

I will be 36 weeks when we do the Lamaze class because that's when the next one was available that fit into our schedule. We're taking the childbirth class and breastfeeding class the hospital offers because they're free.

I'm debating taking a Bradley course (6 weeks) at a woman's house in Roslyn Heights. If I don't do that, I don't think I'm going to do anything...maybe a breast feeding class.

I took a class at our hospital and it was $200. It felt good to hear about all the options and learn some coping stuff. I know some people find the class to be a waste but it really took away a lot of my anxiety i was having about the whole going to the hospital and the process of it all which made spending the money totally worth it to me. We took this class at 27 weeks because we had conflicts on the other weekends it was being taught.

The other class we took was one on BF and it was $35 and it was really really worth it. Learned a lot and the lactation nurse who taught the class was amazing. This was a Monday night which we did around week 33 i think.

I am going to take a labor and delivery class and a breastfeeding class at huntington hospital and they are both free. I am not delivering there and they still let you take the classes. I called this week and the lady sent me a class schedule in the mail You don't have to sign up, you can just show up on the night of the class.

Huntington Hospital offers quite a few of them. Whatever they are offering, DH and I will be taking.

These are the ones listed on their website.

Classes available are:
•Class 1 – Early Prenatal Care
(This class should be attended in the first trimester of pregnancy.)
•Class 2 - Preparing for Baby/Infant Safety
(This class may be attended anytime during pregnancy.)
•Class 3 - Newborn Infant Care (This class should be attended between 24-30 weeks of pregnancy.)
•Class 4 - Labor, Delivery, & Postpartum Care
(This class should be attended after the 30th week of pregnancy.)
