When you're in your bedroom...
do you feel isolated from the rest of the house?
I ask this because when I'm in our bedroom, I honestly cannot hear anything going on in the rest of the house. I think it's probably because of the plaster walls, since it seems a lot of our house is soundproofed a bit.
Anyway, I wonder this because I am home alone with my two kids at night when my husband works and it kind of makes me nervous. And I was wondering if everyone feels isolated in their bedrooms or is it just out house. We live in a colonial and maybe it's just mind over matter Hopefully this question makes sense

I really thought I wanted a colonial when we were looking and as I was looking, I did feel isolated in the bedrooms, which is why we ended up buying a split. Don't know if that helped.... I need to go to bed!

I don't know b/c we have a ranch, but growing up we had a colonial and that to me is one of the perks. My parents could entertain and watch TV with the baby monitor (for my sis) but no worry they would wake her.

I dont (ranch) and it sucks. When I get the extention, I will make sure its built so I am, because of my schedule. sleep sucks now.
