When your kids go for a yearly physical does the doctor do bloodwork?
I just realized that my kids went for their school physicals today and they didn't order any bloodwork. I just switched doctors and my old doctor did but the new one today didn't. Now I'm not sure if that's not always the norm everywhere, or maybe she thought I just needed my school form done and not necessarily a full yearly physical.

My older girls are 5 and 7...they don't routinely do bloodwork with their physicals.

my DD is 3.5 and she only got it at 1 year. I requested blood work though last year cause she kept getting fevers and then they would go away In less than 24 hours. I think he said he does them again at 5

They did up to age 4 and that was it. He won't need one for 5 or 6.

In NC, no. But we lived in Savannah and they did at their 5 year visit. I think it depends on the Dr

Hmm good to know. My kids just turned 3 and 5 and always got bloodwork every year since birth. I just assumed it was standard practice everywhere since I know I get bloodwork for my own physicals. Now I know it's not the norm!

Actually... Never. Not once. They took some from her heel at one since she spent her first nine months in NY to check for lead. I had to make it a point that they knew. Otherwise, I don't think they'd take blood at all of all else is normal.
ETA: can I say I'm very glad they don't? Shots are fun enough! Ironically, my doc wants bloodwork on me every year.
