I delivered my daughter at north Shore Manhasset and a heard a ton of people screaming the entire 36 hours I was their in labor. It scared the hell out of me.

I delivered at Southside and had a scheduled c-section, but while I was in a L&D room getting ready I heard a woman down the hall screaming her head off! It scared me.

I delivered at Huntington also. We heard the woman across the way loud & clear, screaming her head off.

DH said "You need to push or she's going to go first." I said "THIS IS NOT A RACE!"

Yup, I was at Mercy.

All sounded ok, until about 5am after being in labor for 15 hours a woman in the next room was screaming, I kid you not like they were ripping her limbs off. At this point I was SCARED TO DEATH, but turns out she was early and by the time she got in there was no time for an epidural....

anyway I had a c-section and couldn't have been happier after hearing that lady

I didn't hear anyone. I was put in a private room after I got there though since they weren't busy. Normally at SB you are put in a "triage" type area for labor then wheeled to a room when your labor progresses far enough for you to get ready for delivery.

i was at Winthrop and didnt hear a thing...the rooms were so nice and big that i guess we were pretty far apart - so i had no idea there was even anyone else in labor - lol

yes twice when there for monitoring, but I also heard the newborns cries afterwards and it made me cry each time......( I was at Wonthrop)

there was only one other owman there when i had DD. She was gettign Cervadil, so she wasn't even in labor yet. I was quiet- i don't think I screamed at all. I was too tired!

I delivered in Huntington and heard the woman across the hall screaming. My doc turned and said to me, "Aren't you glad you opted for an epidural?!" I remember thinking, "heck yeah!!!!"

When I first got to the hospital (Good Sam) they put me in a room with someone else to check out how far along I was. That woman was a nightmare! She apparently had been there for a while because she had an empty tray from her dinner in front of her. She was alone and on her cell phone, screaming, cursing and crying at someone I can only assume to be the father. I felt bad for her. She wasn't in labor and they were sending her home. They put me in an L&D room across the hall and I heard that same young woman screaming and cursing a little more, but once she left I heard nothing. It also helped that they closed the door while I waited for my labor to progress. I don't think I screamed at all either.

I was at Winthrop and didn't hear anything, but it was because I was the only one in labor at the time, according to the nurse.

I was at NS Manhasset and yes, I heard the women in the rooms on either side of me.

With my son I had an adverse reaction to a narcotic painkiller my OB prescribed and I couldn't stop crying hysterically for hours (sobbing, couldn't catch my breath, etc) and DH heard the woman in the next room asking the nurse if I was ok.

I heard several women. The 2 best were....

#1 A woman came in after only an hour of labor being rushed on a gurnee(sp?)to a room with the doctor screaming "Don't Push!!! No don't push!!"

#2 A woman apparently laying in the middle of the hall screaming "Don't touch me", "oh God!" and "Leave me alone". I swear it sounded like I was in the middle of filming some movie. She made me really glad that I got my epidural.

Yeah at Winthrop I heard a woman just about losing her mind....sounded like torture...later I heard them shout 10lbs 12oz

I didn't hear anyone but I would bet money they heard me when my doctor still hadn't made it down the hall and the baby was crowning and I was told to do "little pushes"

I didnt hear anyone or see anyone else - thank goodness. that would have freaked me out.

I heard other women screaming 2 times, once at North Shore and once at Stonybrook. The third time I was the one screaming

I went in at 7 am Winthrop to be induced on thursday had my DD friday at 2 in the afternoon didnt her ANYTHING- ANYTIME until
I was being wheel chaired upstairs after giving birth.

I didn't hear anyone the entire time I was in labor - even though there were several. It felt like I was in a hotel suite.

When I was in L&D a few weeks ago because I thought my water broke, there was this lady screaming her head off.

I was just talking to my friend today about this. When my friend had her baby, there was a lady across the hall from her screaming bloody murder. So I guess its kinda common!

I heard no one, but I"M SURE THEY ALL HEARD ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was screaming bloody murder for 2 hours...F bombs flying, hospital gown ripped open, jewelry ripped off my neck and flung across the room.. oh yeah, it was ON!!!!!!!!
