When you meet with a potential sitter...
for an interview, do you meet with or without your kids?

With. It's important for me to see how they interact with my kids and as DD gets older she has opinions on all of them too. I actually have DD come up with a question to ask them so that she feels like she's part of the process. One time it was "do you like arts and crafts?" and more recently "what's your favorite kids book?"

Thanks! That's what I was thinking, too. I love the idea of having DD ask questions. Although my DD is painfully shy at first, so I doubt she will.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking, too. I love the idea of having DD ask questions. Although my DD is painfully shy at first, so I doubt she will.
Mine too, I asked on her behalf and she just sat and smiled

I met them first alone to make sure they weren't Jeffrey Dahmer.
Then, when I narrowed it down to two that I loved - I had them both come and meet with my son to see how they interacted with him and how he liked them. Then, the choice was clear - I had to choose them both 
I just needed a date night sitter so I was able to utilize both - and it's nice because I have a back-up in case one is busy the night I need.
