When you have company over - like your parents or IL's
do they put their feet (with or without shoes) on your furniture?!

I think putting your feet on coffee table is rude, especially with shoes on. I don't like people to put their feet on my couches with shoes, but sometimes when my family is over they scrunch up in a ball and we chat, never with shoes. I like when we watch movies and we lay on the couch. I like people to feel at home, after all thats what it is not a museum.

My sister in law and my husband's dad's girlfriend have done that and I think it is extremely rude. I don;t mind if people make themselves at home in my house but that is crossing the line.

I just get so annoyed and irritable when she comes to visit us!
my folks live here and we obviously see them a lot more, but I try to explain to DH that there is a difference between spending a few hours with my folks and then going home. when we see her it's allllllllllllllllll DAY for several days in row

I think on the coffee table is rude, but I've put my feet on the couch at my friend's homes and at my ILs.  Is this bad? It's hard to get really comfy lounging without putting your feet somewhere.

I would have asked her to move her feet, so I could set out some drinks or snacks. Give her an opoortunity to move them without being embarassed.
And if she didn't get the hint, as soon as she got up, I would have made a huge production of disinfecting the table with clorox wipes.

I can't wipe it with clorox b/c it's wood, but I can get the Pledge out

My mom used to put her feet on our coffee table, but to be honest, it was so shot, it didn't matter. When my nephew started to, we'd tell him to stop, and then he'd reprimand Grandma for doing it.  We got new furniture, and I catch myself doing it sometimes, and i have to remind myself if I don't want anyone else to, I can't either.
