When you found out you were pregnant...
How long did you wait to tell your immediate family?
Did you tell them right away or did you wait? If you waited,how long did you wait?

I called my mother while still holding the results! She said she wanted to know as soon as I did! I then told my sisters and brothers about 2 days later after I went to the doctor.

told immediate family, the same day i found out. and told all other friends and coworkers shortly after that. i didnt feel the need to wait.

Since I only did the HPT only my mom and sister know (besides DH). We are waiting for the blood test tonight to announce it. Yet, when we do, we will mention we are very early in the pregnancy so anything could happen.

i waited till about 3 days after my HPT and the BFP.
I saw the doc and confirmed it (by urine only) but I was comfortable w/that.
We told everyone that same day

The first time we waited 4 months to tell family. I told people - like friends here and there. I had a MS so I was nervous to say anything. This time, I told a couple of friends. I'm about 7 weeks or so. I might wait until I'm out of the first trimester.

Last time, I told my parents the next day; this time it was the same day. We told my ILs about a week later only because we weren't going to see them in person before that.

I told my mom, MIL, brother and best friend as soon as the doctor confirmed my BETA levels doubled.
I didn't tell anyone else until my 2nd trimester.

We told his sister and brother in law and my father right away. His parents are away so we have to wait until they return. We'll let everyone else know once I'm at 10 weeks or so, after my first Dr. appt.

Im wondering... I would have no problem telling my family right away well, because, they are MY family and they know me best. I don't know how quick I would be to tell DH's family when the time comes. Anyone feel like this?

I feel the same way. 
I think I would wait to tell them b/c they might be quick to spread the word before we're ready to tell everyone.

First time - I told everyone right away.
This time - hard because we did IVF and most family knew what we were going through. But we have managed to keep it quiet so far except those who knew already.... this weekend we plan to tell DH's family.

We told my parents, my sister, MIL, SIL, SMIL and my two best friends the day we found out.
Everyone else has been staggered since about 9 weeks (I will be 12 tomorrow). We kind of had to fess up because my little cousin who is "psychic" predicted we were having a baby (yes, my family is just that odd)

I am not pregnant yet, but DH and I have talked about it. I, of course want to tell my parents and one friends right away when it happens and DH got into a huge argument bc he thinks we need to wait 12 weeks to tell ANYONE!! He doesn;t get it - I need to tell my parents!!!!!

Immediate family knew right away. We also did IVF, so they knew the date we concieved.
I have a handful of friends who knew about IVF, but I've been avoiding any questions until 12 weeks.

told my mom and stepdad, sister, supervisor at work, nurse at work, and best friend within 3 days, told dad and step-mom, brother and IL's a week later. Will slowly start telling select people over the next couple of weeks (e.g. grandparents, another best freinds, etc) but will prob wait till 10-12 weeks before the rest of family and freinds find out
