When was the first time you took your baby to the mall?
I wanted to go shopping this weekend. I hope it is ok to take my 6 week old. He hasn't had his immunization shots yet.
Would you take your 6 week old to the mall?

2 weeks old we went to Target as well, I had a c/s or it would have been sooner!

I took her out by myself the second I could drive (2 weeks). She was at the mall at 3weeks definitely. At 1 week I went to BRU and Target

I did not but my baby was a NICU baby born during the RSV season. I received a lot of warnings at the hospital and then from my ped. I decided that the mall could wait. It is all a matter of what you are comfortable with.

Probably not. DD was a summer baby and we didn't take her into public places until she was at least 8 weeks old...sometimes you can't avoid it, but we were able to.

I did not wait and took them out at 2 weeks(grocery store, out to dinner etc) They ended up getting RSV at 12 weeks when I would have taken them out anyway-I actually think they may have gotten it from my brother. In older children and adults it presents as a cough and he had one the last day he was here-they got sick the next week.

i just got baby discharged from withrop NICU yesterday....
they say 6-8 weeks for public places on the discharge sheet....

Me too...as soon as the 2 weeks was up we went everywhere...target, mall, BRU...etc. I couldn't wait to get out of the house.

I waited until DS was 8 weeks to take him to the mall. He was a winter baby though.

As soon as humanly possible. I also scouted out the best places to breast feed. My vote goes to the ladies lounge by the children's department at Nordstrom in Roosevelt Field.

we were out in stores at 2 weeks. I couldn't stare at the walls anymore.
Im sure there will be many who think 2 weeks is to early.

DD was born a little early and it was RSV season so we were told to keep her away from the mall and very crowded places until at least 10-12 weeks, which we did.

8 weeks was the first time Kailey was out in public but that was for a very short mall trip to get Santa pics on a weekday.
But she was born in cold weather and cold season so maybe I would have taaken her out sooner if it was wamer, who knows.

Just took DD to the mall at 6 & 1/2wks....Macy's also has a baby changing room that I was able to BF her in....

Honestly, not before two months.
I have a good friend whose baby had RSV and needed a spinal tap... yes, a spinal tap... at only a few weeks old... not worth it IMO so we stayed home.
