When using OPKs
How many times a day do you pee on them?
I test every morning with FMU but then some people tell me that you have your surges in the afternoon and I dont wanna miss out! I'm on CD 13 and don't wanna burn thru all the sticks before I O! haha
I also drink so much water during the day that there is no way I can hold my pee for 4 hours to accurately test at night...

Re: When using OPKs
Last month was my first month using OPKs and I used fmu for pretty much the same reason as you. But I never got a full + reading. This month, I tested once a day in the afternoon until I got closer to my estimated O date and then I tested 2 or 3 times, usually once in the morning, afternoon, and sometimes at night. (I got cheap tests on Amazon) It was a total PITA to have limit my water and wait 4 hours, especially since I like to do cardio once a day, either running or elliptical, so it was hard to limit my water intake. I ended up getting my closest reading to a positive in the morning anyway with fmu, even though the test line wasn't completely as dark as the reference line but very close. Maybe I had my surge in the middle of the night? That's all I can think since it felt like I was POAS all day for a few days! Good luck!

Re: When using OPKs
FMU only but I am using the OPKs with two lines (not digital) so I can see the progression of the line getting darker (and knowing when to BD), as opposed to waiting for a smiley one time and possibly missing it...

Ah this is where I was like I have the CB one. Am I not gonna get a smiley ever? I've been telling my DH to save his boys for my smiley day! LOL

IMO, get the CVS brand with the test line and control line. start early and watch the progression. once you think you are close, test with a CBE digital and get a smiley. that was what I did with DS and got a BFP month #1

Re: When using OPKs
I tested twice a day the week of O. Once in the morning and around 4-6. It was hard to hold it on for 4 hours but it worked for me. The day I got my smiley it was an afternoon, evening test. That morning I got nothing. GL!
