When to start TTC

Of course I understand that getting pregnant can take time and God is the one in charge! BUT DH and I would love to have a baby next summer, but my brother is getting married in June next year and we are both in the bridal party. I am ok with being pregnant and in the bridal party, but I don't want to be 9 months and due. My question is when should we start TTC so we can have a baby next summer and not be due in June?

It really depends on your cycle. When is your next period due?

Figure that out and count 40 weeks from your next period. That is when you'll be due. If it lands in June then you'll want to get that period and wait until the following month.

At least that's how I try and figure mine out.

For instance, ideally for me I'd like to have a baby in August. So I would like to get pregnant after my October period. I have a 31 day cycle so if I get my period on October 25th and get pregnant before my November cycle then I would be due around August 1st (40wks later).

May be there's an easier way but this is how I do it.

I am in a similar situation - my brother is getting married in July and I don't was to be 9 months pregnant at the wedding (mostly bc it is 4 hours away!). We tried this month (got a BFN this morning - 10DPO) and now are going to put TTC on hold for a few months to plan around his wedding. Problem is we have another family wedding in August and November, so now I need to aim for Sept/Oct!

use this backwards calculator to estimate dates you could try (obviously you would have to adjust to your cycle)

Basically, if you get pg in Oct, you will be due around July. You probably don't want to start TTC until after Oct.
