CD1. Every morning at the same time. Do it before you get out of bed.

When to start temping?
If I'm already passed cd1- did I miss the boat ? I'd be starting cd5 if I tried this cycle?

I doubt it's too late. CBEFM doesn't have you start with sticks til CD6 so starting temping on CD5 should be fine.

Probably b/c the #'s don't mean anything but I always did b/c I needed to be consistent with waking up and doing it. Once I slacked off and skipped doing it during AF, I missed an entire cycle b/c I kept forgetting to reset my alarm. I would personally just do it every single day.

Re: When to start temping?
It's best to start at CD1, but you can start temping just after your period ends too. Some people do it that way.

When to start temping?
Thanks! Started with an RE this month but he still suggested using OPK's; so figured for the $10 the thermometer cost- Id try this too! I started today (CD5- but still have AF)... Im totally confused by what everything means- but I guess entering the temps online -it will interpreted there!

Yeah I temped for a year and could never predict what they meant except when they dropped below the coverline after ovulation. Thank god for Fertility Friend!

i usually started cd3-5 cause your temps can be a bit wacky during AF and throw the charts off a tad

When to start temping?
So what generally should happen when temping? Should it be the same everyday til O? Slightly different??? Mine have been 97.4, 97.9 and 97.7- should I be expecting it to drop? Go up?

Re: When to start temping?
fertilityfriend.com is a great resource for information on temping.
But as the LH surges your temp with go up, approximately 0.5 degrees. That's why it's best to use the BBT because it measures your temp with two decimal places to detect the surge.

You'll have a range of temperatures before you O, and a range of temperatures after. BUT - after O, the temps will all be higher.
So if you're the in the mid 97's now, you'll be in the low-mid 98's after you ovulate.
It would look like this if you plotted the points on a graph:
