when to see a doctor?

I am moving into my 10th month of trying to conceive and I am debting if it is time to see a doctor.

I know they say to wait a year but I feel like something could truely be wrong. And would really like to get some test run to make sure everything is normal.

What would you do?

Re: when to see a doctor?

I think if you feel there is a problem then why wait 2 more months. If I was you I would schedule an appointment with your OB.

I would go to your OB looking for an RE recommendation. If you think something is wrong you might as well get a jump on things.

Good Luck!

Re: when to see a doctor?

I went to the OB after only 6 months because I just "felt" that something wasn't right. I know she thought at the time that I was being a little crazy, but it turns out that I was right. DH's SA numbers weren't great and we just finished our first round of IUI. Trust your gut. If you feel like you have been actively trying and nothing is happening, then go see your Dr. Ask that they do cd3 and cd21 bloodwork, and get a referal to send DH for a SA. Those would be your easy first steps.

I'd definitely get started on some testing... have your DH get an SA done. That would be a good first step, and in the meantime, see if your ob/gyn can do CD 3 b/w for you and/or set up an HSG.

Check to see if your insurance requires a referral before going to an RE. If not, go ahead and make the appointment! Chat Icon
