when to buy breast pump?
DH and I are going to BBB to this weekend to try and get the last few things we need to feel "ready" for baby and I was wondering if buying the breast pump should be one of them or not?
I am thinking that since i wont need it right away and still have like 4 weeks until my due date that I dont need to buy it now. I can always send DH out to buy it later right?

Re: when to buy breast pump?
I just bought mine this weekend - just so that I have it. I'm not opening it up yet (due in 5 weeks) - as I want to make sure that BFing works for me/us. In the event that I'm not able to BF, I want to be able to return it.

I registered and got one for my shower. You can definitely wait though.

I had DH run out to get it when DS was a few days old.

Re: when to buy breast pump?
I bought mine before DD was born and it was a complete waste. We rented a hospital grade pump for a month the day we got home and despite trying my hardest (nursing and pumping every 2 hours around the clock) I wasn't ever able to produce enough milk to feed my daughter. I used the one I bought for another 2 weeks after we returned the one we rented, but it was like trying to get blood from a stone. Impossible. Pretty much a waste of $120. The rental one was only like $60 for the month. If I had actually gotten a milk supply, we probably would've just kept it another few months so I could build up a storage so we could EBF for 6 months or so... best laid plans... sigh. Anyway, my moral is: plan to rent and see.

Re: when to buy breast pump?
My plan is to wait until after is born. I hope BFing will work out, but I don't know that it will. So I'll wait and see and then buy one if I need to.
