when should i start prenatals
DH and I want to start ttcing for baby #2 in January...should I start prenatals now?? Should I ask my OBGYN for a prescription?? Or should I just take an OTC or a multi until then??

you can do otc ones - and you should start doing them at least 3 months prior to trying to ttc...(just to build up the folic acid)...
I personally take Target OTC. I have a very sensitive stomach and they don't bother me.
They can do no harm at all to take them earlier - a friend of mine still takes them and she gave birth 10 years ago! She loves what they do for her hair and nails!

You can start now! Take an over the counter and then you can see if your doctor wants you to take a prescription one.
I'm seeing an RE now and he recommended OTC prenatals!

I have been taking the following for 2yrs. My ob suggested taking it when we were thinking about TTC.......They also said that OTC prenatals are fine even when you are pg esp if you have a sensative stomach.
Walmart Prenatal 1 a day
Calcium Citrate 1 a day
Folic Acid 1 a day
Vitamin D 1 a day
Omega 3 1 a day
then perscription meds
