When going over RR tracks do you...

Put on your hazards??? I know buses need to do this but I have been seeing more and more regular motorists doing this. Is there are reason for it? Are we supposed to do it?

that is what i thought this thread was going to be about!

funny story: last time i went to sicily to visit my family, i told them to do that. But they go over RR tracks at least twenty times a day. When I went back in October, a bunch of people in the town that i didn't even KNOW were doing this BUT they didnt know why Chat Icon

i started a trend!

I don't put my hazards on, but I slow down, look and listen.

Maybe the person putting the hazards on is doing the same thing but just being nice and letting the person behind him know they are slowing down?

or maybe they're school bus drivers that are so used to doing it that they forget they're in their regular cars and not in a bus?

My mom is a driver for a local district and yes I think she has done this once or twice while in her car. LOL
Me, I have never done it.

When I'm in the pickup truck with DS, I say "Get ready for the big bump!", then I go over it at normal speed, and we bounce as we go over the tracks.... Chat Icon With the car, it bottoms out, so I don't do that...

Do people pick up their feet even if they're driving, or just as passengers? I would hate to know that there are people driving without their feet near the pedals! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Oh, please, it's only for a second. And you're not lifting your feet to your head, just an inch or two!
