When does baby food stop?

My DD is 10 months old and eating a bit of finger foods and regular food (eggs, pancakes), but she is mainly on baby food....(fruits,yogurt, veggies, meat, oatmeal etc.)


What will her diet loook like when she is 1 years old?

Do you still give baby food?

At 12 months she still gets a fruit baby food occassionally- like when I give her oatmeal for breakfast- I"ll mix a stage 2 fruit in with it.

But she pretty much refuses purees now- especially veges. She will eat regular veges- but not purees

She still eats Yogurt all the time though.

Dd is 11 months and eats a lot of table food but I still give baby food because I feel like what she actually gets in her mouth of the table isn't enough. She is starting to push baby food away sometimes so I imagine she will give it up for good soon.

Thiss may sound dumb, but when you give pacakes or an egg lets say...

DD has been off baby food for a while. I can't feed her anymore. She wants to do it all herself since 10 months. I will give 2 small pancakes and fruit and you know when she's done. It's either on the floor or she's screaming or doing her all done sign

Thanks for posting this, I was curious too about my almost 10 month old. She still has no teeth so I get nervous feeding her table food. I usually give her small piece, and she loves it...she still cant feed her self.

When she starts throwing it on the floor!

Seriously though- she will just lose interest- throw food, play with it, spit it out, turn her head and scream.
Yeah, screaming is big with her!

I steam veggies soft and then cut them up into small pieces. Shredded chicken, bread torn up, anything I am eating but cut up for her. I give "sandwiches" I break up the cheese and ham and bread and she eats that. Potatoes, again small. Fruit, pancakes, waffles,

DS is 10 months and has been refusing purees for a while so i don't bother anymore.

we give him whatever we are having just cut into smaller pieces. (except the things the pediatrician told us not to feed him)

it doesn't all make it into his mouth when he eats himself so we "help" him a bit

I say go as long as you can keeping at least one jar during the day. My friend just told me that her 6 year old still eats a stage 3 jar of veggies...and honestly, I'm jealous.

21 mo old DS has these for a snack and one or two for lunch when we go to the beach. (It saves me from packing a cooler).

I think DS stopped baby food when he was 9-10 months old, I can't really remember (maybe closer to 9 months?). I just know he refused to be spoon fed and wanted to eat everything on his own.

ETA: I'd give him anything and everything cut up in small pieces. From veggies, to sandwiches, to chicken, to fish (not shellfish), to pasta. He also ate soft (ripe) fruits like bananas, plums, peaches, pears, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, cantelope, honeydew, etc.... He ate it all!

I made all my baby food so DD started eating table food probably around 10 months, by 1 year she was eating "regular" food. I still cook most of her meals separately at 15 months. AT 12 months she as eating yogurt, cheese, lot's of fruit, chicken, meatballs, etc...

ds never a fan of puree baby food we started solids 7 months because he was sooooo interested in what we were eating. I LOVE not having to give him baby food. he just eats whatever we are eating waffles oatmeal pankcakes pasta meatballs pizza veggies everything except eggs, peanuts and chocolate. dont worry about how much they eat they will tell you if they are hungry or your gut will tell you

DS is 14.5 months and I still give him the pouches from time to time, in a pinch. he will eat those but will refuse jars
