When do you bring kids to dr when sick?
I don't bring for colds.
My kids are "fever" kids. They often get highish fevers 103-104. Usually always viral unless they are complaining about their ears or falling a lot ( my youngest)
Right now 2 of mine have fevers 102-104 with no other symptoms. I never know when to bring them .
My one concern is strep but dd says nothing hurts and her throat is good. Can they have strep without pain?

I don't bring for a fever unless it is consistently high or its a fever with other symptoms.

Any fever where there are lethargic and not eating/drinking. My ped doesn't worry about fevers, even high ones, as long as they are acting mostly like themselves and at least drinking a little. The second they shut down and become little potatoes, we go to the ped.

I bring DS 2 as soon as he gets a fever or if he seems uncomfortable (he tends to get ear infections when he's congested - and you can tell).
For DS 1 - I usually take him if he's uncomfortable - he will tell me if something hurts.

Last time DS had a fever that persisted (on and off) for more than 48 hours, I took him. My ped said that was exactly what he would suggest - just to rule out infection.
BUT, my DS is only 1 and doesn't talk yet. If he was older and could tell me if his ears or throat hurt it might be a different story.

Same, but only because my kids are prone to ear infections, especially my 4yo.

Anything more than 102 for more than a day I go to the per. If they have coughs or bad congestion I take them. My youngest has asthma so I don't play the wait game ever with her.
