When do you BD?
If you know you are ovulating on Friday when would you BD? I am just curious how you all plan it.

Re: When do you BD?
We do it pretty often, so far this month we've as soon as AF left and recently on CD 7,11,13....
Today is CD 14 and yes we will I'm still waiting to O, should happen by Tuesday at latest...but we're making sure we cover our bases in case the OPK (from hell) isn't accurate.
We're going for every day through Wed-lol
So we're a little busy

Re: When do you BD?
I always try and every day on the 2-3 days leading up to ovulation then the day of ovulation and at least 1-2 days after. I like to be thorough.

Where did you read this??
Many women don't know when they O, so abstaining for 10 days is not feasible. Also, you want to make sure sperm are "fresh," and BDing regularly during the first half of your cycle ensures that they will be.
Some people will swear that you have to BD every day; others think that every other day is the way to go.If you're up to it, and your DH has no known fertility issues, every day is perfectly fine. If he has lower sperm count, then every other day will give him more time to recuperate.
I O'd on a Monday. We bd'd all weekend... and I'm 11 weeks pregnant. Have fun and get busy!

That's completely and totally incorrect. First of all, you most certainly should be doing the deed in the days leading up to ovulation. It takes sperm 3-5 days to travel to where it needs to be so if you wait until after you ovulate you may miss the egg. Not to mention the egg basically starts breaking down as soon as it's released so it creates a very small window for conception to occur. It's better to BD a lot before so you have lots of little guys waiting up there as soon as the egg releases.
Secondly, unless your DH has low sperm counts, poor motility, or poor morphology there is NO reason you can't do it as much as you want. You also shouldn't hold out for 10 days because by the time your DH ejaculates that load that he's been holding for so long they are not going to be the healthiest sperm and the best swimmers. Sperm start to die off and get "weak" so to speak if you hold out for too long. Men need to replenish their supplies every few days for the healthiest, best sperm to be present.
When I got pregnant with my DD I BD 3 times before I ovulated, had an IUI the day I ovulated, BD twice the day of the IUI and BD 2 days after I ovulated and I got pregnant! My DH's sperm counts were also AMAZING even with all the BD'ing. (I know this because the RE gives us the breakdown of count/motility/morphology before the IUI).
So basically, unless there is some real serious problem with your DH's sperm there is NO such thing as too much BD'ing nor do you need to hold out for "X" amount of days before you ovulate. If you're playing those games your just decreasing your likelihood of conceiving.

Re: When do you BD?
ok..... I actually just read some more sites and read other information then I posted before. I actually just read you should have sex three times a week which makes sense. No need to flip. Its just sometime I read things on here that I have read the opposite. For example. I have read in various sources that you shouldnt drink green tea. I either read the source (for 10 days wrong) or it was a ****** source. Thats why I
1. Ask you girls 2. Looked at other sources.
Thanks for the information.

Re: When do you BD?
this is how I got my BFP
we BD every other day. when I got a smiley or positive OPK, we BD each night and the day I think I ovulated we BD once in the morning and once in the evening. We never BD after that b/c DH was out of town. 2 weeks later I got my BFP.
Good Luck!!

No problem! And I didn't flip!! You just have to be careful that when you post you're posting correct information because people do look to these boards for information and advice and you don't want to freak someone out by giving them incorrect information. KWIM?

Well that was the point of my post. To get the correct information. If I knew the answer I wouldn't have asked. Anyways, I read in about 4 diff. books now (thanks to boarders) that green tea should be avoided.

I don't know if green tea should be avoided or not. I do know that lots of people recommend drinking green tea to increase CM.

People may avoid green tea b/c there have been studies that it prevents the body from properly absorbing folic acid. HOWEVER... those studies, people were drinking 6 cups + a day. As long as you're not chugging it by the gallon, you're ok. I drank a cup each morning around O to increase EWCM.

And to just add to the whole "avoiding certain foods" thing................in all honesty, people have been getting pregnant for hundreds of years all around the world while eating and drinking god knows what. Realistically, avoiding certain foods or eating certain foods isn't going to make that much of a difference in the end as to whether or not you conceive. Barilla Pasta won't get you pregnant. Not having green tea won't keep you from getting pregnant. Look, I tried all kinds of "fertility diets" and eating certain foods to help me to conceive and guess what.............at the end of the day I still had anovultory cycles and erratic periods and in order to have my DD I ended up at the RE on Metformin and Provera. While I was TTC her I ate like I normally always ate. I didn't avoid caffeine (although I never drank much caffeine to begin with), I didn't avoid certain foods, and I really didn't do anything special and I got pregnant. What I needed was an RE and meds...........not a special diet.
The point is, you can drive yourself INSANE if you try to worry about every little detail of what you eat when you're TTC on top of tracking your cycles, and timing your BD'ing, and using Pre-Seed, etc. etc. The whole process can become maddening. You don't need to be overly concerned with your food intake, eat relatively healthy in general and you're in good shape when it comes to TTC and being pregnant. If you have a real problem your best best if an RE because I can tell from experience a serving of Barilla Pasta wasn't going to help me with any of the fertility problems I was having. Just my two cents!
