When do they need to start wearing shoes? And what kind?
So DD is 9 months and just starting to walk.
It's not her main mode of transportation yet  but she is taking more and more steps every day!
I know they say barefoot is best when they are learning but when do I need to buy her shoes?
And what kind of shoes?

i would do robeez for now until she gets the hang of it.. then after I would get her a pair of stride rites.. that's what I did with mine.. :O)
once she has it down pact, then you can go crazy buying her whatever shoes you want lol
oh and pedipeds! I forgot about those! they have so many cute ones!

ITA..we used Robeez for the first one or two months until she was consistently walking and then spent $50 at Stride Rite on a pair of sneakers

Once she's walking consistently, I'd take her to Stride Rite and have her fitted, and get her a nice (cute) pair of Stride Rites.
